http://www.softschools.com/teacher_resourc es/timeline_maker/
http://www.softschools.com/teacher_resourc es/timeline_maker/ In
the timeline, include what happened to Camilla throughout her
entire sickness. Remember to include details like Camillas favorite
food and how she was cured of the stripes.
Slide 6
Understand Why did Camilla stop eating lima beans?
Slide 7
Activity Camilla liked lima beans and it was something that
made her a unique individual. We are all unique and all have
different likes and dislikes. You will receive a paper person
outline, you will paste down construction paper to the body as
shown in the picture. On each stripe write something that makes you
a unique individual.
Slide 8
Apply If you were Camillas friend, how would you have helped
her?
Slide 9
Activity Write a letter to Camilla as she is at home sick with
a bad case of the stripes. In your letter, tell her how you feel
about her sickness.
Slide 10

friends what it feels like to not fit in with others?
Slide 11
Activity Watch the following video about differences.
https://www.youtube.com /watch?v=EkABFEpty5I
https://www.youtube.com /watch?v=EkABFEpty5I Next, find a partner
and create a Venn diagram. Fill out the diagram with similarities
you share and also differences that make you unique. On a separate
sheet of paper write down how you would explain to your friends
that you are different, but we are still all similar.
Slide 12
Evaluate Is it more important to give up things you love to fit
in or to be true to yourself?
Slide 13
Activity Create a two sided mask with the provided templates.
Color one side of the mask with things you love and decorate it to
describe you. On the other side, draw things that are cool and do
not find interesting or fun at all. Glue the paper to popsicle
sticks so you have a double sided mask. As a class, discuss whether
it is more important to be true to yourself.
Slide 14
Create How would the story be different if Camillas condition
was cool?
Slide 15
Activity Rewrite the story in a shorter form, to make Camillas
stripes cool and explain that the stripes allowed her to fit in.
After, create a fake social media page for Camilla Cream and
include her likes, dislikes, personality, and anything you think
you would find on her social media page, if she were to have one.
