Resolve Through Sharing® March 31, 2017Coordinator Training (train-the-trainer)

In this 1-day workshop you will learn how to provide in-services and teach RTS Bereavement Training: Perinatal Death, Neonatal and Pediatric Death, or Pediatric and Adult Death to staff within your healthcare system using Resolve Through Sharing resources. You will also learn the skills you need to establish an interprofessional bereavement program and maintain bereavement care as a best practice.

PurposeThe purpose of this workshop is to provide individuals trained in the concepts of RTS with knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement a comprehensive RTS perinatal, neonatal and pediatric, or pediatric and adult bereavement program. Emphasis is placed on change theory, eliciting support, teaching strategies, and leadership skills.

Marcia Jenkins, RN, CPLCMarcia served as the Bereavement Coordinator at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis for 20 years, and she spent 23 years as part of their Labor and Delivery staff. She received her RTS training in 1992 and shortly thereafter, became a coordinator. She

is now a member of the National Faculty, and she aided the development of the RTS Pediatric and Adult Bereavement training curriculum in 2013. Marcia has received many awards, including the 2005 Indianapolis Star “Salute to Nurses” Nurse of the Year. She is the co-author, with Jane Heustis, of the book, Companioning at a Time of Perinatal Loss.

Rev. Dr. Mark Hart, MDiv, BCC, ACPE SupervisorMark’s clinical experience as a chaplain and pastoral educator began at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center where he cared for families facing the difficult decision of medical interruption and adult oncology. From there, Mark and his wife went on to teach in Mombasa, Kenya. After two years, they returned stateside, and Mark began his CPE Residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, where he provided ministry to adult Oncology, Cardiology, and the Burn Unit. Following

a two year stint of being a congregational pastor, Mark returned to the clinical world at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas where he served as the primary chaplain and Supervisory Resident to all of the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology patients.

Mark completed his Master of Divinity degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California, in 1984, and he completed his Doctor of Ministry degree from Texas Christian University’s Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1996. He joined the Resolve Through Sharing National Faculty in 2003 after having worked at Gundersen Health System for 10 years as the Manager of Clinical Pastoral Education. Since September 2002, Mark has been the Director of Clinical Pastoral Education at Baptist Health System, San Antonio.
