1. Sentence (ประโยค)

หัวใจส�ำคัญของโครงสร้ำงประโยคคือ S + V ประโยคจะมีใจความสมบูรณ์ได้ต้อง

ประกอบด้วย Subject (ภาคประธาน) และ Predicate (ภาคแสดง) ซึ่งก็คือ Subject

อย่ำงน้อย 1 ตัวและ Verb อย่ำงน้อย 1 ตัว ถ้ามีไม่ครบสององค์ประกอบนี้จะถือว่า

ไม่เป็นประโยค

2. Verb

ทุกประโยคต้องมี Verb อย่างน้อย 1 ตัว เราต้องมองหา Verb ก่อน โดยจะแบ่งเป็น

เป็นกริยาไม่แท้ (Non-Finite Verbs)

• Gerund (v.ing)

- Seeing you with someone else kills me inside.

• To v.inf และ v.inf

- Having heard her best friend’s bad news, Sarah tried to cheer her up.

- I notice my brother giggle alone.

• Participle (v.ing / v.3)

- I saw Jane crying like a baby.

- The character slapped in the face is the antagonist.

4. 6 อย่างนี้ เป็นได้ทั้ง Subject / Object

- 1. Noun : The culprit is yet to be discovered.

- 2. Pronoun : He is smart.

- 3. Noun Clause (ประโยคย่อยที่ท�าหน้าที่แทนค�านาม):

- He asked his mother what she did with his stuff.

- 4. Gerund (V.ing) : Cultivating compassion for people can refuel your

patience.

- 5. Question Words + to v.inf :

- What to see on the ring seems to hurt me.

- 6. To + inf. :

- To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

5. Special Verb

1. “น่ำ...” คือ to be + V.ing = Adjective

- It is amazing to see her transformation.

2. “รู้สึก...” คือ to be + V.3 = Adjective

- I am / was amazed by her transformation.

3. เมื่อเป็น Verb แท้ แปลว่ำ “ท�ำให้...” ผันตำมพจน์, Tense, Voice

- Her transformation amazed me.

6. Modifier

ทุกอย่างที่ไม่ใช่ S, V, O, C คือ Modifier และสามารถตัดทิ้งได้ ได้แก่

1. Prepositional Phrase (บุพบทวลี)

- Ellen finally discovers the unconditional love from her parents.

2. Adjective Clause ขึ้นต้นด้วย who, whom, which, that, whose

- That’s the man whose house has burned down.

3. Clause with connector (Adverbial Clause) clause ที่ขึ้นต้นด้วยค�าเชื่อม

(connectors) เช่น before, after, as soon as, if, unless, since, while, where,

when

- As soon as the tourists leave, the restaurant will be quiet again.

4. Punctuation Mark ตำมหลัง , [comma] -- [dash] : [colon] ; [semi-colon] ( )

- ถ้าใช้ Have เป็นกริยาแท้กับ actions หรือ experiences เช่น have dinner, have

a good/bad time, have problems จะสามารถใช้โครงสร้ำง continuous ได้

- I’m having trouble with my computer.

แต่ !! possession, relationship จะไม่ใช้ continuous

- I’m having a lot of money. > I have a lot of money.

- ใช้ Have เป็นกริยาแท้กับอำกำรป่วย (illness) จะไม่ใช้ continuous

- I was having > I had a really bad cold last week.

- My sister is having > My sister has a stomachache.

10. Infinitive

คือ กริยาที่ไม่มีการผันรูปใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น แบ่งเป็น 2 ประเภทคือ Infinitive with to และ

Infinitive without to

Infinitive with to (หรอื to inf.) คือ กรยิาทีไ่ม่ผนัรูป และตามหลงั to เสมอ

หน้ำที่ของ To infinitive

1. ท�ำหน้ำที่เสมือน Noun

- To forgive is to set a prisoner free.

2. ท�ำหน้ำที่เป็น Adj. ขยำย Noun แปลว่ำ ส�ำหรับ...
