/ .Brief note of the introductory meeting of Advisory Committee for Development of Garo

Language held on 17th July 2018 at 12.00 Noon in the Conference hall of Directorate ofKokborok, Govt. Of Tripura, Shisha Vhavan, Agartala under the Chairmanship of Sri DipakMarak, GS, TGU.

A) List of Members present in meeting is given at Annexure-I

Sri Dipak Marak, (GS, TGU) Hon'ble Chairman, Advisory committee for Development of GaroLanguage initiated the meeting welcoming all members present in the meeting.

Director, Kokborok & OML greeted the Chairman & all members of the newly formed AdvisoryCommittee for Development of Garo language and felicitated all.

B) After prolonged and details discussion in the meeting as per agenda wise, following decisionhave been taken:-

1) It has been decided in the meeting that Garo language Text book & Teacher guide bookspreparatory sub-committee will consist of following members

i) Sri Dipak Marak (Chairman)ii) Sri Subash Marak, (Vice Chairman)iii) Sri Furan Marakiv) Sri Tapas Marakv) Sri Bipad Ranjan Ghagravi) Sri Ajit Roga.

2) The decision has been taken in the meeting that Director Kokborok & OML will take necessaryaction for deputation of the Garo language Text book & Teacher guide books preparatory sub-committee members for preparation of Garo language text book for Class - III w.e.f 1st August to16th August 2018.

Deputation letter of the committee members to their concerned Officials of their respectivedepartments will be send from the Directorate of Kokborok & OML.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 16.08.18 & 27.07.18)

3) It is decided in the meeting that a newspaper advertisement seeking manuscripts for Garolanguage literary Magazine will given from the Directorate of Kokborok & OML.

It is further decided that the concerned manuscripts should reach the Directorate by 10th

August, 2018.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 27.08.18)

4) It has been decided in the meeting that the deputation of Sri Asish Daru, H.M(Senior Basic),Hazachari High School, Under liS, Amarpur, District Gomati Tripura process will be initiated fromthis side to the Director Elementary Education.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 03.08.18/ Action: Director, ElementaryEducation. Time Line: 15.08.18)

r'he decision has been taken in the meeting that Garo Language will be introducedas a subject at Class - 1from the Academic Year - 2018 in the following 10 nos. schools :-

I) Madhuban Pritilata J.B School, Under 1/S - Sadar. District- West TripuraII) Sepahijala Banophol J.B School, Under l/S - Bishalgarh, District- SepahijalaIII) Sangma para J.B School, Under I/S - Arnbassa , TTAADC, District- Dhalai TripuraIV) [errnanjoy S.B School, Under I/S - Ambassa, District- Dhalai TripuraV) Mag pushkuni J.B School, Under I/S - Udaipur, District- Gomati TripuraVI) Sukna Chara J.B School, Under l/S - Raiya bari, District- Gomati Tripura, TTAADC,VII) Marak para J.B School, Under I/S - Mach mara, District- Unokoti TripuraVIII) Kanta chowdhury S.B School, Under IjS - Chailengta, District- Dhalai TripuraIX) Jibon Garo para J.B School, Under I/S - Bishalgarh, District- SepahijalaX) West Masli Marak Para J.B School, Under l/S - Kumtaya, District- Dhalai Tripura

In this regard Directorate of Kokborok & OMLwill issue notification for introduction of Garolanguage, as per norm, for the above cited 10 nos. schools after following due process.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 20.11.18)

6) It is decided in the meeting that a letter to be sent from the Directorate of Kokborok & OML tothe District Education Officers, Inspector of Schools & HMs of 13 nos. notified schools where Garolanguage is already introduced as a subject will be sent intimating them about the name of schoolswhere Garo language is introduced and requesting them for taking necessary initiatives need to betaken from there end for smooth functioning of Garo language classes.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 15.08.18)

7) It is decided in the meeting that 2(two) days Garo language seminar will be organized atAgartala.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 15.11.18)

8) It is decided that the reminder letter to the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE)will be sent from the Directorate of Kokborok & OML requesting them to send text books of Class Ito V for reference purpose.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 10.08.18)

9) Decision has been taken in the meeting that the Garo language Advisory committee Chairman &members along with the officials from the Directorate of Kokborok & OML will conduct a schoolvisit of all notified 13 nos. schools where Garo language is taught as a subject.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML~Time Line: 30.09.18)

10) It is decided in the meeting that a letter will be send to from the Directorate of Kokborok &OML to the District Education Officers, Inspector of Schools & HMs of 13 nos. notified schoolswhere Garo language is already introduced as a subject informing them about the newly formedAdvisory committee and also about the authority entrusted to the Advisory committee membersregarding school visit for the purpose of monitoring Garo language teaching.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML. Time Line: 26.08.18)

11; It is decided in the meeting that the Chairman & Members of the Advisory committee should beprovided will the honorarium & TA as sitting allowance for attending the Advisory committeemeetings. In this regard, the Director, Kokborok & OML is requested to initiate a file for seekingnecessary approval for providing remuneration to the Chairman & Members of the AdvisoryCommittee, as per the Govt. Norm.(Action: Director, Kokborok & OML.Time Line: 30.10.18)

12) It is decided that the next meeting of the Advisory committee for the Development of Garolanguage will held as and when it will be desired by the Hon'ble Chairman.
