AUGUST 2017
“All leadership is influence.”
John C. Maxwell
Greetings from the Magoffin County Extension Staff! The summer
has passed by so quickly. We want to thank all of our volunteers for work-
ing so hard to help us fill in the gap as we are still without a FCS Agent.
With the new fiscal year in motion, we are excited about the things
that are happening and things that have already been planned. We are in-
troducing two new homemaker groups this month. Check out the infor-
mation and see if you would like to participate. We will be having a lead-
ership training in September so please save the date. The Quilt Guilds and
Homemakers have been frying up some awesome apple pies for their
scholarship fund and selling them at the Farmers’ Market. They have also
been going on some fun shop hops and learning lots of new skills to use.
We have been invited to help with some community service at the
Konia building putting together meals for “Feed the Hungry” on Friday,
August 11th from 6:30-8:30 PM. If you have the opportunity, please join
us in that endeavor. Courtney will be having a Food Preservation Work-
shop on Monday, August 14th and Tuesday, August 15th and she would
like to invite everyone to participate. It will be a come and go workshop so
if there is one particular session you are interested in, feel free to attend the
one of your choice.
As always, we are here to serve you. If you have any suggestions
about new programs, let us know by stopping by or calling 349-3216.
