This year’s event will be held March 23 at Twin Lakes YMCA, 204 E. Little Elm Trail, in Cedar Park. Cookers will check in on March 22. The Cedar Park Chamber of Com- merce is now registering teams for this event. More than $4,000 in priz- es will be awarded to the winners of the cook-off, along with the coveted trophies and bragging rights. This is a Lone Star Barbecue Society Sanc- tioned event. Registration for four-person teams cost $150 with an additional $15 fee for entering the following categories: Cook’s Choice (no desserts), Beans and Salsa. The meat categories are brisket, pork spare ribs and chicken. The event is open to the public with no admittance fee. Come watch the master’s at work and learn their techniques and tricks. Our thanks to Nonprofit Day Chair Sherry McDonnell of Hill Country Community Ministries; Municipal Administration Day Chair and Assistant City Man- ager Josh Selleck; and Economic Development Day Chair and City Councilmen Don Tracy. These out- standing individuals, working with Leadership Cedar Park Curriculum Chair and Mayor Pro Tem Mitch Fuller, have given this year’s pro- gram depth and relevancy.
