It was a great day for a garage sale. Except for a few shmvers at noontime, it was great weather. Some people found lots of good things to buy. The kids thought they entered a toy store at this garage sale. The entire garage was filled with toys. My son,Eddie, thought this garage sale was fabulous. Here's a picture of the sale - the Perfect's on Wildwood Road.

VILLAGE COUNCIL

Council met in regular session May 12, 1986, with all members present.

Peggy Holfin?er, President-elect of the Women s Club, reported that they hope to have a representative at each of the Council meetings. She announced the Installation Banquet this month and invited Council to attend the annual pot luck dinner being planned for the fall. She also showed the attractive new Minerva Park Cook Book currently on sale.

The Mayor explained the current Village insurance situation. Very short notice of cancellation was given, and though most policies have been placed, the umbrella and general liability have not. Costs have risen (generally three times the rates of a year .ago~ and many companies are no longer writing this type of insurance.

Streets - Dave Blair reported he had looked into a number of drainage problems and will get with Lee Rupp to see what ean be done for some of them. At least one of them appeared to be due to a blockage in the sewer. It was pointed out that blmving grass and leaves into the street, and subsequently into the drain, blocked drains and sewers which are costly to the village.

Finance - Mr. Champney informed Council that it needs to begin planning for funding needs. The Village is currently existing virtually hand to mouth and the increased insurance rates, along with many other increases, are a real problem.

As there was no more business to come before the body, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30.P.H.
