Opera tors ofm otor vehicles a re subject to S ta te tra ffic la w, including S ta terequirem ents for licensing, registra tion, a nd opera tion of thevehicle in question.
Motor vehicle use, especia lly off-highwa y vehicle use,involves inherent risks tha t m a y ca use property da m a ge,serious injury, a nd possibly dea th to pa rticipa nts. R idersshould drive ca utiously a nd a nticipa te rough surfa ces a ndfea tures, such a s snow, m ud, vegeta tion, a nd wa ter crossingscom m on to rem ote driving conditions. PROHIBITIONS It Is prohibited to possess or operate a motorvehicle on National Forest System lands on the Manti-La Sal National Forest other than in accordance withthese designations (36 CFR 261.13).
Viola tions of 36 CFR 261.13 a re subject to a fine of upto $5,000 or im prisonm ent for up to 6 m onths or both (18U.S .C. 3571(e)). T his prohibition a pplies rega rdless of thepresence or a bsence of signs. T his m a p does not displa y nonm otorized uses, over-snow uses, or other fa cilities a nd a ttra ctions on theMonticello R a nger District.
