For some kids it can make a difference for access
20
I have a student who is included and needs several Apps during his language arts class he spends more time scrolling through his Apps than learning! I want the child to communicate about a particular App using their AAC system and do not want to leave the program. I have a limited amount of time with a student and want to use multiple Apps in that time however do not want to close out and find them,
Multitasking on the iPad
21
1. Close all Apps not needed. ( see saving battery life)
2. Open the Apps you want to use with the student
• In some instances you might want to get to where
You want the student to be within the App
4. Follow steps for multitasking
Multitasking on the iPad

Create Folders on your iPad
30
Start out by deciding which Apps you want to put into your new folder. I group based on curriculum activities and skills such as social skills teen, Switch Activities, Early Literacy
31 32
A new window will pop up with a “name” section for your new folder (see image below). If you want to change the default name of the folder, tap the small x in the Name field.
33
The keyboard will pop up and you can now give your folder a custom name.
34
Tap anywhere on the screen to complete the naming process. Now continue to drag other Apps onto this new folder to add them to it.
35
Browsing the Web
 Save Images
Want to save an image that you find somewhere? Just tap and hold on an image on any web page, and you’ll be prompted to save the image.
Hint this is handy when using Apps like Communication Apps where you are creating content
36
Quick Scroll to the Top of Any Page
If you’ve scrolled down a long page of content, it can be annoying to scroll all the way back up to the top. Tap the title bar at the top of the screen, and you’ll scroll back up to the top. ( select Go)

37
Quickly Mute sound
If you want a quick and easy way to mute the sound, all you need to do is hold down the volume down button for 2 seconds.

of your iPad On/Off
Home
Release Quickly
41
You’ll see the screen ‘flash’ white and hear a camera ‘clicking’ sound. Now open the Photos app on your iPad
42
You’ll see the screenshot you just took as a thumbnail. Tap that photo to view the screenshot.
43

A recent survey by the IESF ( 2012) found that teachers and professionals in the classrooms were using only ¼ of the Apps on their iPads. With less than ¼ of the iPad’s being used productively the shift from what resources are out there needs to change to what can I use.
