Paul Dillon, national commentator and advocate for Alcohol and
Substance education for students, spoke to our Year 10, 11 and 12 students on Tuesday. He commented a number of times during the day on what a pleasure it is to visit our school and spend time with the students. He also affirmed the students for their attentiveness and respect. Paul also delivered a program
for parents on Tuesday night. For the parents who attended it was a wonderful opportunity to be engaged with a topic that is so vital for our kids as they enter their teenage years
and learn to make good decisions. The information and data that Paul shared was aimed at empowering parents with the tools required to help guide their children through this, often challenging, part of growing up.Alcohol and teen drinking is a
significant problem in all schools, to varying degrees, including ours. To have someone of Paul’s calibre and experience share with us is an incredible blessing. To access additional information
and data on this subject visit Paul’s website which has a wealth of information available - http://darta.net.au/
The school website address is www.ccas.nsw.edu.au and there is a wealth of information available to parents and students. Some items are available via the publicly accessible site while others (such as
copies of letters sent home, class resources and the newsletter) are only available after logging in to the site. If you have never logged in to the website before you will need to sign up online for a user account. It’s
very simple:1. Go to www.ccas.nsw.edu.au2. Click the link on the right of the home page that says “Join Our Community”3. Fill in the form with your name and email address4. Select if you would like the school newsletter to be emailed to you each week5. Click “Submit”Once you have done this you will receive an email notifying you of your username and password. To login to the website you need to follow these steps:1. Go to www.ccas.nsw.edu.au2. Find the login area to the bottom right of the home page3. Select whether you are logging in as a parent, student or staff member from the dropdown box (check

‘Take off those grave clothes and let him go,’ Jesus said. (John 11:44 NIV) Well, it wouldn’t really be appropriate for Lazarus to go freaking out the good folk of Bethany looking like a zombie, would it?
Lazarus was Mary and Martha’s brother. He’d been dead for four days when Jesus raised him from the dead... In fact, Jesus had received a message from Mary and Martha that Lazarus was sick, but He had delayed coming to help. Delayed? To say they were disappointed in Jesus is a bit of an understatement.
It’s easy to forget that before Jesus performed this amazing miracle, they were in full mourning. Filled with grief, Mary and Martha both questioned Jesus’ timing when He finally arrived. ‘Lord,’ Martha said, ‘if You had been here, my brother would not have died.’ (John 11:21 NIV)
Are you questioning God’s timing or His involvement in a problem or circumstances you’re dealing with? Maybe you think that God doesn’t seem to be doing anything at all? Even through Martha’s pain and confusion, she still didn’t deny who Jesus was. She said: ‘But I know that even now God will give You whatever You ask.’ (John 11:22)
If you’re having a ‘What are You doing, God?’ moment, remember God says, ‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways ... As the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways.’ (Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV) God’s always got your best at heart.

What do you do?We’re looking for people from our local community willing to answer one question, ‘What do you do?’ One of the reasons young people struggle with making career choices is that they often don’t know what is possible for them. This year as part of our Career’s program we are looking for people who might be willing to give up a little of their time to share their life experience and answer a question or two about what it is that they do for living. If you think this might be you then please let me know. If you’ve never addressed a group of kids before, don’t sweat it! It’s what I do and I’d be delighted to help make it easy for you.- Mr Robartson [email protected]
