RABBI'SREFLECTIONS

I had a college Jewish history professor, who was also an ordained rabbi, who used to love to say:

“The only unknown is the future. The past can be debated, analyzed and dissected. We can disagree about its meaning and how to understand it, but it is there for us to probe its importance and implications. The future on the other hand has yet to unfold.”

While I don’t disagree with his wisdom, I do not live in the world of academia in the world of theories and lectures. I live in the real world, the world of the 21st century synagogue and have always lived under the axiom that we must know the past, present and plan for the future to best live our lives. We have to know where we’ve been, where we are and where we’d like to go.

Planning for the future as a rabbi or a congregation is never easy as there are so many variables to consider. What will the Jewish community look like in the decades ahead; the Jewish family; and the world we live in? And what do we envision our synagogue to look like to respond to the future needs of this 21st century family?

The synagogue is not merely a house of worship or a place where we gather together to pray. It is a place to reach inward and outward, to cultivate the best that is in each of us, to foster bonds and Jewish memories and to reach out to the community around us. We must continue to be a warm and welcoming home to all, and strive to become even more inviting and inclusive of the ever-changing face of the Jewish family unit and its ever changing needs.

At our recent BART Shabbat (Broward Association of Reform Temples), we were reminded of the findings of the latest Pew Research Center study of Jewish identity by Mark Pelavin, the chief program officer of the URJ, in his address to us. He spoke of the largest growing segment of the religious population in America – the nones – those who say that they have no religion.

What is interesting and hopeful for us, as Reform Jews, is that many of the core beliefs of the nones are indeed central to our own understanding of Jewish values and religious faith.

The nones claim to not believe in a well-defined masculine deity of their parents’ generation, whereas we have embraced the equality of men and women, the inclusive environment for all, and the matriarchs alongside our patriarchs, and gender-neutral language of prayer.

The nones do care about the world we live in, want to make a difference, and have a global vision, whereas we embrace tikkun olum (repairing the world) and gemilut chasadim (act of loving kindness) as core values of our religion.

The nones do not want to be defined by an inherited traditional way of doing anything, whereas we embrace change. We are Reform Jews and not reformed Jews because the process of reformation, or change, is eternal. We will provide meaning, spirituality and ways to pursue social justice in the world.

The future of the synagogue, or of Reform Judaism, will not be the same because at the very heart of who we are and what we are, we are called upon to adapt to and respond to the world around us. At the heart of who and what we are, the central tenants of

our faith will always guide us: God, Torah and Israel.

However, we may respond to these pillars of faith in new ways. God may be revered once again as the Ain Sof or Shekhinah – the Mother of all being and becoming without end of time and space.

Our Torah, our sacred texts, will provide meaning, purpose and context to find love and wonder and meaning in our lives amidst the chaos.

And Israel will continue to be the place that our prayers are directed, not just by facing east, but through our engagement and advocacy and love of Israel and its people.

The future may be unknown, but we will not walk into it blindly. We embrace the future with the clear vision of a strong and vibrant Jewish community, lovers and supporters of Israel, and that sanctifies our lives and the world we live in.

Advances Occur With Risk Taking And Boldness

I think that no matter who we are, or what we do, we sometimes get the “hamster on a wheel” syndrome. Progressing through

our daily routines, can be sometimes monotonous and often repetitive. Many of our days seem to fold into one another.

I catch myself wondering if I should live in the moment or invest in my future. Should I do something wild and crazy, prepare for a service, look over some music, or pick up the dry cleaning? More often than not, it’s the latter as we consider the consequences, and decide that the route of least resistance is the safest choice.

Reflecting over the past 40 years, I’m pretty sure that taking the road less traveled and embracing risk has led to many of humanity’s greatest success stories.

Closer to home, we’ve been gifted with the success story that is Kol Ami Emanu-El. Because of the creativity and risk taking of thousands of members, a dozen-plus presidents, Rabbi and Fern, and teams of dedicated clergy and staff, a pile of dirt in the middle of a field has morphed into a splendid campus that is truly the center of our Jewish community.

Contemplating the future, I believe that a spirit of risk taking andboldness is once again needed. “Build it and they will come”doesn’t resonate with the majority of our community in a worldthat has a peripheral interest in Jewish communal life and faces continuing economic and social challenges.

Our 21st century community is more interested in building relationships than structures. The dues structure, popularized more than half a century ago, needs to be re-imagined and rethought.

Fostering meaningful relationships with each other from the youngest to the most senior members of our Temple is a constant theme at every gathering of clergy, staff and lay leadership.

Increasing our ties and footprint to the greater community is another way in which we impact people’s lives through our sacred work.

This is an exciting time to step up as a participant, leader, or supporter of our congregation.

I’m looking forward to the continuing story that is Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El.

Chazak chazak v’nitchazek. Be strong, be strong, and let us be strengthened.

What is the future of Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El? The answer really

depends on all of us. The future is not guaranteed. Rather, the future of our Temple will be shaped by the choices and decisions that our congregation will make member by member.

Each of you can and should play a role in securing the future of our great Temple. I am happy to report that as it relates to our Temple’s finances, we are constantly looking towards the future. We have met to discuss our legacy program. The legacy program would help temple members leave donations to the Temple through wills, trusts, stocks, etc. We are also in discussions to determine the campus’ future needs. These steps, along with our strength in membership have put Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El in a strong financial position as we look toward the future.

With our financial house in order, we need to decide what the future holds for Temple life. I believe that our synagogue should focus on four pillars as we move forward.

First is spirituality. We must continue to listen to our members and provide spiritually meaningful experiences at our Temple.

Second, we must be a Temple that makes social action an important priority. We must work with organizations like JFS, to help heal our community.

Third, is the social aspect of Temple life. Our temple must be a warm place where new friendships are constantly made.

Finally, Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El must be known for the strongest possible support for Israel. We must work with groups like AIPAC, the AIC and any other organization that will help us strengthen our ties to Israel.

I believe that the future of our Temple is bright. We have the most important resource in abundance, which are the incredible members of our Temple.

Let us work hard to stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, so that we may pass on to the next generation an even stronger, more vibrant Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El.

OUR B’NAI MITZVAH KIDSEVAN BASS - SATURDAY, MAY 2, 10:15 A.M.

Evan has been attending TKAE Hebrew School since his early elementary school years. He enjoys playing soccer and lacrosse as well as playing jazz on his saxophone. Evan rarely loses an argument with his parents since becoming a member of the Indian Ridge Middle School debate team. His Bar Mitzvah project involves collecting gently used toys, books and clothing for No More Tears, a foundation which rescues victims of domestic violence and assists their return to productive lives. Evan is excited to further explore his Jewish roots and traditions when touring Israel this summer with his family.

LEIA GEWIRTZ - SATURDAY, MAY 9, 10:15 A.M.

Leia has been attending TKAE since preschool. It is like a second home to her, and she is thrilled to be having her bat mitzvah here with her Temple family. As a mitzvah project, she is collecting and donating food, as well as funds for the Jewish Community Services Kosher Food Bank. She attends American Heritage School in Plantation. Leia is heavily involved in the fine arts program there and enjoys it very much. She is currently the stage manager for the school junior high play, and is a part of the math competition team. She also loves spending time with the Temple youth group at the many exciting events that they offer locally and regionally. One of her biggest joys in life is attending Camp Coleman in Georgia, where she has gone for the past five years.

NOAH CELLER - SATURDAY, MAY 16, 10:15 A.M.

This past weekend I got a chance to organize a sports day for underprivilegedyouths ranging in ages from 2-17. I really enjoyed playing sports with them and getting to know the children. It made me feel great knowing I was helping to make their dayfun and full of sports!

HAILEY AND JORDAN FINE - FRIDAY, MAY 22, 7:30 P.M.

Hailey has been a part of the TKAE family since she was two and a half years old, which is when she started at the Pre-School. She continued her Jewish learning at the day school and religious school. Hailey is currently in 8th grade and attends Indian Ridge Middle School. Hailey is passionate about competitive cheerleading. She has been a part of a competitive cheer team for the past five years and currently cheers for Florida Triple Threat. This year she has volunteered her time as an assistant cheer coach for the Tiny’s team at her gym. Her dedication for cheer never ceases to amaze us. When Hailey is not cheering you can find her in bed sleeping the day away, cuddling with her dog, CoCo, or face-timing any number of her best friends. She also loves hanging out with her sister, Jordan, making video stars or working on their Hebrew together to get ready for their exciting day!

Jordan has been a part of the TKAE family since she was two years old, which is when she started at the pre-school where her sister was already attending. Jordan continued her Jewish learning at the religious school and is currently in sixth grade at Indian Ridge Middle School. Jordan is passionate about basketball and all things athletic. Jordan has been playing travel basketball for the past three years, and currently plays for the Florida Future Basketball team, which is based in Fort Meyers. This year, Jordan also played on the Indian Ridge Middle School soccer, basketball and flag football teams. Her athleticism and enjoyment for sports are extraordinary. When Jordan is not playing sports, you can find her glued to the TV enjoying her latest series from Netflix. She also loves hanging out with her friends, playing man hunt in the neighborhood, and jumping on the trampoline. Jordan truly enjoys hanging out with her sister, and working on their Hebrew together as they get ready for their exciting day that they will share as sisters!

GABRIEL GUN - FRIDAY, MAY 29, 7:30 P.M.

Gabriel Gun currently goes to McFatter High School and is in the 10th grade. He plays for Plantation Eagles FC travel U16 soccer team and also likes to ski and skateboard.

SAMANTHA HARRIS - SATURDAY, MAY 30, 10:15 A.M.

Samantha Harris goes to Indian Ridge Middle and is in the 7th grade. She excels in school and is a top achiever. Samantha has taken singing and acting lessons for years and has performed in numerous musicals around Broward County. She loves to play soccer with her friends and hang out at the mall.

SOPHIA BORZILLO - SATURDAY, MAY 30, 10:15 A.M.

Sophia is 13 years old and in the seventh grade at the University School. She is an avid chess player and has received many trophies. She enjoys boating, fishing, scuba diving, and anything to do with the ocean. She has a 9-year-old brother, Ryan. For her Bat Mitzvah project, she has been researching the Multiple Sclerosis Society as she plans to begin a club at her school to raise awareness of this critical disease.

JASON FEINER - SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 10:15 A.M.

Jason was 18 months old when he first attended Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El’s preschool and was among the first students in the Religious School with ASD. Jason is in sixth grade at Indian Ridge Middle School and is proud to have been on the straight-A honor roll. Jason enjoys playing video games, swimming, surfing and learning everything he can about space. Jason’s Bar Mitzvah project was to raise money for Autism research, a disorder that affects him and many of his closest friends.

When I heard the topic of this issue’s 8200, I immediately thought of my

homeland Israel. As uneasiness inhabits Israel and the Middle East becomes more violent with the spread of radical Islam, the future of Israel is becoming more and more at risk. Groups like ISIS, Hamas and Hezbollah, whose ultimate goal is to destroy Israel, are spreading rapidly to not just the Middle East, but throughout Europe and even the United States. Last month, I had the opportunity to attend the AIPAC conference with 15 other staff members and congregants. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee seeks to strengthen and promote the relationship between the United States and Israel. The conference is the largest gathering of America’s pro-Israel community, including students, synagogue delegations and members of Congress.

Along with 16,000 other attendees, I had the opportunity to hear from leaders from all over the world about key issues facing Israel and the Western world. Additionally, I was able to join other Floridians as we lobbied our state’s members of Congress in support of legislation that will enhance the relationship between the U.S. and Israel.

As Jews, we have a responsibility to educate the general population so that we

can put a stop to this new wave of terror. On a personal level, I will continue to help support Israel by not only educating myself by attending meetings and conferences, but also by encouraging my friends and family to get involved, join committees and let their voices be heard.

Along with others from our Temple, I have been encouraging partnerships with agencies such as the IAC (Israeli American Council), the Israeli Tennis Association and the JNF (Jewish National Fund) to show our commitment to Israel and Judaism. Our Temple continues to give scholarships to send our youth on programs such as high school in Israel, NIFTY, the March of the Living and to Jewish camps.

Now more than ever we need to show our support. Whether you are looking for ways to get involved through fundraising, awareness or membership in different organizations supporting Israel, I am here to help you. We need to come together as a community, stay educated and show our support so that the state of Israel continues to be strong.

A few days after school began this year, I had asked a child how her

summer in Israel was. This four-year-old girl with Israeli parents had spent six weeks there visiting her family. She told me and two of her friends a couple of stories about her cousins, she told us about the long airplane ride, she told us about the loud siren noises and she told us how scary the small room she hid in was.

Israel today, and the future of Israel, is a constant subject being spoken about. Unfortunately, for many, when referring to Israel, anti-Semitism and terrorism are words that come to mind. With all the technology and social media, children of all ages in this generation are in one way or another aware of what’s going on in the outside world.

When parents whisper in muted voices about the situation in the Middle East, our children are listening. It is a very difficult time right now for Israel. Just recently, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated at the AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) conference that “Israel lives in the most dangerous neighborhood and while American leaders worry about the security of their country, Israeli leaders worry about the survival of their country”. He proceeded to say that “not a single day goes by that he doesn’t worry about the survival of Israel and the actions he needs to take to ensure the survival”.

Now more than ever, Jewish educators need to teach our young children about Israel and promote it in a positive manner to ensure a strong Jewish future. As a Jewish early childhood program, it is our duty to take action. We do not want Israel to be just a topic of discussion but rather a core component of our curriculum. We want our children leaving our program with the understanding that Israel is a special place to which we have a special connection. More importantly, we want our children to know that “Israel is our Jewish homeland”.

As our children and parents enter our school, they immediately feel a

connection to Israel. The Israeli flags that embellish our lobby and continue throughout the hallways are a reminder of who we are. Visual reminders such as posters, Judaic art projects and religious items are constantly present in our classrooms. Our children revisit Israel on a daily basis through holidays, customs, prayers, celebrations and pretend trips to Israel.

As a Jewish institution we also need to take action. Through Jewish family programming such as our Tu B’shevat celebration, our Purim celebration our Adult Jewish Learning Programs, PJ Library programs and our upcoming Yom H’atzmaut celebration, we are teaching and setting traditions for the future so that not only our young children feel the connection to Judaism and Israel but their parents do as well.

Just recently, we hosted the Israeli Tzofim (Scouts) on our campus where they demonstrated Israeli outdoor survival activities to Israeli youth. The future of the Jews in Europe became a constant debate among

my family and friends after the recent anti-Semitic murders in Paris and Copenhagen.

We’ve all heard Bibi Netanyahu’s call on European Jews to leave the continent, urging them to go to Israel, “your home”. Going back in history, Jews experienced a Golden Age in Western Europe during the years after World War II. Unfortunately, in the past decade the tolerance for Jews in Europe is diminishing. Discussions about the future of Jewish communities often focus on France, the UK and Germany, because those countries contain so much of the continent’s Jewish population. As a new terrorist group, ISIS, increasingly targets European Jews, among others, for murderous attacks; as Al Qaeda continues to target them; as armed guards stand outside most Jewish institutions in Paris and Berlin; as German leaders worry openly about rising anti-Semitism in their country; and the Jewish Agency reports thousands of French Jews emigrating in the past two years alone – we need not wait for better statistics to discern a problem!

A 2013 survey of Jewish communities in eight European Union states (Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Sweden and the UK) carried out by the E.U. Agency For Fundamental Rights found that over three-quarters of respondents believe anti-Semitism had increased in their country over the past five years. Nearly one third had considered emigrating from Europe because they did not feel safe as a Jew. Jews are thinking twice before going to the synagogue on Saturdays, parents are anxious walking their kids to their Jewish schools, men and boys remove their Kippa outdoors feeling uncomfortable

to be identified as Jews.

It is clear that the most direct cause of European Jews’ growing sense of insecurity is the violence and terror perpetrated by extremist elements in the Muslim community. But at the root of even that phenomenon are changes within liberal Europe itself – specifically, the shift toward cultural relativism and away from a proud attachment to particular national identities. This shift has created a profound dilemma for Jews. While Israel has had an indispensable role in strengthening and preserving their Jewish identity, liberal Europe has become increasingly hostile to the very idea of a Jewish state. As a result, European Jews have been presented with a choice: they can either retain their attachments to Israel despite growing censure, or they can join the chorus of European critics at the expense of their own identity.

Personally, I would like to believe that the Jewish people living in Europe will choose to hold fast to their particular identity in the face of so much pressure to abandon it. Why? Because identity fills life with a meaning and purpose. It satisfies a basic human longing to be part of a community that shares a set of values and a sense of purpose. Though the State of Israel “will welcome our brothers and sisters who live in Europe with open arms” as Prime Minister Netanyahu said in Paris, I hope for a brighter and safer future for Europe and its citizens – Jews and gentiles alike.

Sandi Block-Brezner and Jeff Brezner joined our Temple in

1998, after moving from Miami-Dade to Broward County. It was their desire to join this Temple because prior to moving to Davie, they had attended many events at the Temple which showed them the warm, loving environment that existed here.

Sandi daughter’s Stacy lives with her husband, Tim, in Ludlow, England, just west of Wales. Jeff’s son Justin lives in Kendall.

Jeff and Sandi are both retired. Sandi was a school library media specialist for 20 years with the Miami-Dade Public Schools and later became the library media supervisor for the county for eight years. After moving to Broward, she was the associate dean of the university/college library at Broward College for 10 years.

Jeff, after earning a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Miami, was hired by Miami-Dade College where he became the dean of facilities management for 23 years. He left that position to become the associate dean for facilities Management for Broward College. During the time that he worked for both of these institutions, he also taught remedial algebra to community college students.

Sandi retired in 2009, and with her interest in horticulture, undertook

a program which enabled her to become a State Master Gardener. She developed a preference for growing orchids and today their home is beautified by over 300 different orchids and a butterfly garden.

When Jeff retired in 2007, he took up photography as a hobby. Sandi and Jeff enjoy traveling and have visited 19 national Parks. Jeff has created photo books of all of their trips. Jeff currently belongs to a camera club at Flamingo Gardens where he also volunteers as a guide at the Wray House.

Jeff served on the Temple executive board as vice president of administration and as financial secretary. He was also instrumental in overseeing the construction of the day school classrooms. Jeff also took part in the Rabbinical search committee.

Sandi was a member of the ritual and social action committees and, as a member of Sisterhood, sheco-chaired the evening book club for many years.

TKAE is very special to Sandi and Jeff for many reasons. It is the one place that gives them the opportunity to find a feeling of spirituality while escaping the mundane business of every day. Furthermore, TKAE has been the hub of many of their deep and enduring friendships.

YOUTH PROGRAMOne of the great parts of my job as

the youth director is developing young leaders. Every year KAFTY elects its executive board to plan and run the events of the year. It is my hope that our teen leaders of today will go on to become leaders of our Jewish community in the future. I am thrilled to hand over my space in this issue of 8200 to the 2015-2016 president of KAFTY Remi Orlinsky.

As the future president of KAFTY, I am very excited about what is to

come. I am eager to work with the new elected KAFTY board and continue to make KAFTY thrive. In recent years the number of participants at our events has increased significantly, and I will do everything I can to continue this trend. During my time in KAFTY, I have enjoyed creating amazing friendships through Kol Ami Emanu-El, as well as continued my cultural and religious connection to Judaism.

We hope to continue to expand participation by as many Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El teenagers as possible. We hope to accomplish this with congregational support and innovative programming which is both fun and educational.

By the time I end my term as president I hope to not only keep the youth involved but help shape future Jewish leaders.

I am very excited to introduce and work with our newly elected board. Serving as our programming vice president, Cara Axelrod will have the pleasure of working, creating and organizing different events, including local and statewide lounge nights and trips.

KAFTY has always been very active in social action in our community, working

with the Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Harbor, as well as Relay for Life, which we hope to continue and expand throughout next year with the help of Logan Armstrong, our new social action vice president.

Without the religious and cultural aspect of KAFTY, it would not be what it is today. Our new religious and cultural vice president, Brooklyn Armstrong, will tie religion into our programs and special events to keep the culture in our youth group.

Scottlyn Goodman, our new communications vice president, will use her creativity to design different KAFTY-related merchandise and spread the word about the events that we plan to undertake to keep our group active and thriving.

Without our members we could not do the fun things that we do – Andrew Bass, our membership vice president, will reach out to both our active members, as well as those who haven’t seen what KAFTY has to offer. He’ll work to get people out to events and meet new people.

Rachel Guttman, our new fundraising vice president, will work with Logan and Cara to come up with fun ways to raise money for KAFTY and non-profits we are associated with.

Our grade representatives, Gabi Fine, Sophie Ross, Brittany Gendler and Dani Bodner, will work with our KAFTY leadership to reach out to the people in their grade to encourage them to come to events. Jennifer Moscovitch, our Junior Youth Group liaison, will spend time with members of younger youth groups to get them excited about getting involved and making their experience as amazing as possible!

We look forward to an awesome and fantastic year in KAFTY!

The future is a difficult subject for me to write about. I have a passion for

living in the moment – a philosophy that I adopted about 10 years ago.

Here is what I have learned about living in the moment: When you are focused on the goal you easily miss the successes and miracles that occur while you are working towards attaining your goal. Just the other day I was rushing to get to the Temple – thinking of who I needed to call, things that needed to be done, if we had enough volunteers. This is the antithesis of living in the moment. I had to remind myself to slow down – I took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly – re-centering myself, relaxing and acclimating myself to the moment. At that moment on my drive to the Temple I saw a rainbow that looked like it spanned Davie to Sunrise. I said a blessing (Do you know there is a blessing that you say when you see a rainbow? – Blessed are you, Adonai our God, Ruling Spirit of the Universe who remembers the covenant and is faithful in keeping promises).

The near future of Sisterhood is Book Club with a twist. We will be reading “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. On April 23, we will be showing the movie at 5:30 p.m. followed by a discussion at 7:30 p.m. Read the book or watch the movie and come join us (either at

5:30 or 7:30 p.m.) for a fun evening. This event is taking place at Neesa Warlen’s home. Please call the temple or email us at tkaesisterhood@gmail.com for the address and directions.

There is a story in the book of Genesis, Chapter 18, about the hospitality of

Abraham and Sarah, who owned a large, welcoming yet isolated home in the land of Beer-Sheba. They played the role of gracious hosts inviting strangers to bask in the warmth of their hospitality. People came from all over seeking the company of this incredibly humble couple, often arriving unhappy and misguided, but leaving uplifted and spiritually nourished.

Rabbi Needleman has often spoke of wanting TKAE to be like the tent of Abraham and Sarah, where people feel welcome, fulfilled, and a part of our community. One of the ways we are achieving this is through the Ambassador Program. The program matches current members to new members for the first year of membership. The ambassador will: make an initial call to welcome the new member; make sure the new member is properly set up administratively; answer any questions the new member might have; and invite the new member to an event. Throughout the year, ambassadors act as a liaison helping the new member to make connections through introductions to clergy, administrative staff and other congregants. The new member can also count on the ambassador to assist in finding services, events, and programs

suitable to their interests.

This is a program vital to the future of our synagogue in that we know the cultivating of relationships is what keeps members connected to Temple life, and members provide strength to our temple community. The Ambassador Program was re-instituted this year with success and is looking to become a sustainable part of our membership for years to come. Being an ambassador within our congregation is an important role, and also an easy and rewarding way to be involved in Temple life.

We are always in need of ambassadors, so please be in touch if this program is of interest to you. Our email is ambassador@tkae.org. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at our final membership event on May 15 – the 40th Anniversary Shabbat and Congregational Meeting.

Family Happenings… Jill and Robert Rickel are thrilled to announce the engagement of their son Jason Rickel to Erin Dunphy, daughter of Ann and Kevin Dunphy of New Jersey. A spring 2017 wedding is being planned. Adam Breit, the son of Marcia and Richard Breit, became engaged to Jamie Alman, the daughter of Jennifer and Michael Alman. Congratulations to David Baron, son of Sharon and Mark Baron, to Deana Duran. David is a Confirmand of our Temple,

now an attorney for Proskauer Law Firm in New York City. Mazel Tov on the marriage of Bryan and Brenda Harr. His proud parents are Rabbi Sheldon and Fern Harr, and his blessed grandmother is Arlene Harr. The beautiful venue was Jungle Island in Miami, where his father performed the nuptials, assisted by Cantor Goldman. Christine Hudson and Jason Becher were married in at the charming Old Davie School, the oldest remaining school house in Broward County that dates to the early 1900s.
