2 Introduction

Your complete satisfaction with yourHonda automobile is our main goal.All personnel at Honda automobiledealerships are thoroughly trained toprovide the best service for yourvehicle. If you are not satisfied withany maintenance or repair workdone by the dealership, follow thesethree steps:Step 1 - Talk over your concerns withthe dealership's management, such asthe Service Manager or GeneralManager. In most cases, a satisfactorysolution is found at this step.Step 2 -We recognize that, on someoccasions, a customer will not betotally satisfied with a dealer'sdecision or actions in Step 1. If thisis the case, you should call or writeHonda Automobile CustomerService. The address and telephonenumber are on the inside front cover.

Please provide the followinginformation:• Year, model, and Vehicle

Identification Number of yourvehicle, and its current mileage.

• The name of the dealer who soldyou the vehicle.

• The name of the dealer whoservices your vehicle.

• Date, mileage, and reason foreach visit to a Honda dealership.

• Any non-Honda dealership repairservice for the problem(s).

• Your daytime and eveningtelephone numbers.

The staff of Automobile CustomerService is interested in working withyou and the dealership to find asatisfactory solution.

Step 3 - If you disagree with thedecision reached by the staff ofHonda Automobile CustomerService, you may request to haveyour case reviewed in anindependent forum run by theCouncil of Better Business Bureaus(BBB). This program is called "BBBAUTO LINE." You may file a claimat any time by calling the BetterBusiness Bureau, toll-free, at (800)955-5100. Your call will beautomatically directed to the BBB inyour area.

BBB AUTO LINE's purpose is toresolve disputes between vehiclemanufacturers and their customers.BBB AUTO LINE's decision makersare impartial third parties who willlisten to both the customer and themanufacturer and decide what canbe done to resolve the disagreement.

The BBB AUTO LINE's decision isnot binding on you unless you agreeto accept it. If you accept thedecision, Honda will abide by it.Generally, disputes submitted toBBB AUTO LINE are resolvedwithin 40 days (47 days if you havenot first contacted Honda about yourcomplaint).

Honda offers you the opportunity tomediate and arbitrate a disagreementthrough BBB AUTO LINE becausewe want you to feel that you havebeen treated fairly. Eligibility is

limited by your vehicle's age,mileage, and other factors. In orderto file a claim, you need to provideyour name and address, the VehicleIdentification Number of yourvehicle, and a brief statementoutlining the disagreement. Initially,BBB may try to resolve thedisagreement through mediation. Ifthis is not successful, your complaintwill be reviewed by an impartial,volunteer arbitrator. You may presentthe facts of your case to thearbitrator at an informal meeting.

We encourage you to use thisprogram before, or instead of, goingto court. It is informal, free of chargeto you, and generally resolvesproblems much faster than the courtsystem. Lawyers are usually notinvolved in the resolution of claimsthrough the BBB, although you mayobtain one at your own expense ifyou choose.

If you want to go to court, we do notrequire you to first file a claim withBBB AUTO LINE. Please note thatlaws in some states may require thatyou file a claim with BBB AUTOLINE before you can proceed to astate-operated dispute resolutionprocess or the court system. If youdo not accept the decision of BBBAUTO LINE, you can still go tocourt.

Lemon LawsMany states have enacted what arecommonly referred to as “LemonLaws.” Although the details of theselaws vary from state to state, theirmain purpose is to assure you certainrights if you have problems withyour new vehicle. In general terms,these laws usually say that if yournew vehicle has a problem thatcannot be repaired in severalattempts, or has a series of problemsthat keep it out of service for anextended period, you may qualify forrelief under the lemon law in yourstate.

Some states require you to notify themanufacturer about the problem(s),and some states give the manufacturer,or its representative, a chance tocorrect the problem(s). A state mayrequire you to submit yourcomplaint to a dispute resolutionprogram, such as BBB AUTO LINE,before proceeding to other forums.Lemon laws have many provisions.If you feel your new Honda qualifiesfor consideration under the lemonlaw in your area, we suggest youcheck the laws in your state.

We want you to be satisfied withyour Honda automobile. If you haveany questions, please contact yourHonda dealer or Honda AutomobileCustomer Service.

Some Repairs May Be Covered Beyond the Limited Warranty

Honda may cover, on a case-by-casebasis, some or all of the cost torepair a problem that is not coveredby your vehicle's limited warranties.

If your vehicle develops a problemyou feel should be repaired byHonda at no cost, discuss it withyour dealer.

If you are not satisfied with yourHonda dealer's decision, call or writeHonda Automobile CustomerService (the address and telephonenumber are on the inside frontcover). Please provide thisinformation about your vehicle: year,model, Vehicle IdentificationNumber (VIN), mileage,maintenance history, a detailedexplanation of the problem, and whyyou think Honda should beresponsible for the repair. Yourrequest will be investigated, and youwill be informed of Honda'sdecision.

Sometimes Honda offers a specialadjustment program to pay all orpart of the cost of certain repairsbeyond the terms of the warranty.Check with your dealer to determinewhether any adjustment program isapplicable to your motor vehicle.

The warranty coverages in thisbooklet are offered only to theowner of a 2010 Honda automobile.To be covered, the vehicle must bedistributed by American Hondathrough the Honda AutomobileDivision, and sold by a Hondaautomobile dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, or the U.S.Virgin Islands.Parts replaced under any of thewarranties in this booklet becomethe property of Honda. Honda willmake the final decision whether torepair any existing part or assemblyor replace it.Honda may use factory-remanufactured parts rather thannew parts for some warranty repairs.Those parts, like new parts, arecovered for the remainder of theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty (seepage 9).

The warranties in this booklet do notcover:• The failure of any part or

accessory due to:- Abuse, misuse, accidental

damage, or acts of nature.- Improper installation or

maintenance.- A low fluid level or the use of

a fluid other than specified byHonda.

- The installation of any part thatis not equal to the original inquality of materials orworkmanship.

- Use of the vehicle incompetition or racing events.

• Any installed part or accessorythat fails because it was notdesigned to fit that year and modelof Honda.

• Any vehicle with an odometer thathas been altered so it is impossibleto determine the actual mileage.

• Any vehicle while it is registeredor normally driven outside theUnited States, Puerto Rico, or theU.S. Virgin Islands.

• Any failure caused by modifyingthe vehicle, or installingaccessories not authorized byHonda.

• Any incidental expenses orinconvenience you may suffer dueto the loss of use of your vehicle.

• Any vehicle that has ever beendeclared a total loss or sold forsalvage by a financial institutionor insurer, or that has been issueda “salvage” or similar title underany state's law. This exclusiondoes not apply to the EmissionsWarranties, the Seat Belt LimitedWarranty, the Replacement PartsLimited Warranty, or any recallsor other campaigns.

Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty begins on the date thevehicle is put into use in one of thefollowing ways:• The vehicle is delivered to the

first purchaser by a Honda dealer.• The vehicle is leased.• The vehicle is used as a

demonstrator or company vehicle.Your vehicle is covered for 3 yearsor 36,000 miles, whichever comesfirst. Some parts may have separatecoverage under other warrantiesdescribed in this book.Warranty CoverageHonda will repair or replace any partthat is defective in material orworkmanship under normal use. SeeProper Operation on page 35. Allrepairs/replacements made under thiswarranty are free of charge. Thereplaced or repaired parts are

covered only until this New VehicleLimited Warranty expires.This New Vehicle LimitedWarranty Does Not Cover:• Normal wear or deterioration of

any part.• Cleaning and polishing.• The adding of any fluids, unless

they are needed as part of awarranty repair.

• Air conditioner refrigerant chargeafter the first year, unless requiredas part of a warranty repair.

• Broken, chipped, or scratchedwindow glass unless it is due to adefect in material orworkmanship.

• Any item concerning yourvehicle's general appearance thatis not due to a defect in materialor workmanship. Cosmetic flawsor minor damage to the body,paint, or other items may occur

during manufacture or shipping ofyour vehicle. If you find anyuncorrected flaws or damage onyour new vehicle, notify thedealer as soon as possible afterdelivery.

• Expendable maintenance items(such as filters, or brake pads/linings) when replaced due tonormal wear or customer abuse.

• Wheel balancing and wheelalignment after 1 year or 12,000miles, unless required as part of awarranty repair.

Limited 6-Month WarrantyCoverage• Original equipment batteries for

key fobs and remotes are coveredfor the first 6 months ofownership.

• Original equipment wiper bladeinserts are covered for the first 6months of ownership.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

EngineCylinder block and head and allinternal parts, timing gears andgaskets, timing chain/belt and cover,flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, oilpump, intake and exhaust manifolds,engine mounts, engine/powertraincontrol module, water pump, fuelpump, seals and gaskets.

Transmission and TransaxleCase and all internal parts, torqueconverter, transfer case and allinternal parts, transmission/powertrain control module, sealsand gaskets.

Front-Wheel-Drive SystemFinal drive housing and all internalparts, driveshafts, constant velocityjoints, front hubs and bearings, sealsand gaskets.

Rear-Wheel-Drive SystemDifferential housing and all internalparts, propeller shafts, universaljoints, driveshafts, constant velocityjoints, rear hubs and bearings, sealsand gaskets.For a list of items not includedin this warranty, please refer topage 9.

Your Warranty Rights andObligationsThe Federal Emissions-relatedDefects and Emissions Performancewarranties are in addition to theHonda New Vehicle LimitedWarranty. These warranties are givenonly to the owner of a 2010 Hondadistributed by American Hondathrough the Honda AutomobileDivision, and sold by an authorizedHonda dealer in the fifty UnitedStates, the District of Columbia, theCommonwealth of Puerto Rico, theVirgin Islands, Guam, AmericanSamoa, and the Commonwealth ofthe Northern Mariana Islands.

Your ResponsibilitiesTo qualify for coverage by theDefects and Performance warranties,you should operate and maintainyour 2010 Honda according to therequirements on page 35 of thiswarranty booklet, and the maintenanceschedule in the owner's manual. Thisschedule is designed to keep yourvehicle's emissions control systemsfunctioning properly by maintainingyour vehicle in peak operatingcondition.

Honda will not deny a claim foremissions warranty coveragebecause you did not generallymaintain the vehicle, or do not havemaintenance records to show thatyou did.

However, any part that fails as aresult of your abuse, misuse,unapproved modification, use ofimproper parts, or failure to performrequired maintenance affecting thefailed part will not be covered underthis warranty.

Honda recommends that only partssupplied by Honda or equivalentparts be used to repair your vehicle.Maintenance, replacement, orrepair of emissions control devicesand systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishment orindividual.

Under normal circumstances, Hondawill pay for warranty repairs onlywhen they are performed at anauthorized Honda repair facility.However, in an emergency situation,the repair of emissions controldevices or systems may be done byany automotive repair establishmentor individual, or by the owner, usingany replacement part.

An emergency situation isconsidered to exist if an authorizedHonda repair facility or warrantedpart is not reasonably available tocorrect a problem.

Honda will reimburse you for thoseemergency repairs that are coveredby the Emissions Warranties. Partsreimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically-appropriate hourlylabor rate for Honda's recommended

time allowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced parts and a copyof the paid receipt to any authorizedHonda automobile dealer.

The use of replacement parts notequivalent to the original parts mayimpair the effectiveness of yourvehicle's emissions control systems.If a non-equivalent replacement partis used in the maintenance or repairof your vehicle, and if an authorizedHonda automobile dealer determinesit is defective or causes a failure of awarranted part, your claim for repairto bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicablestandards may be denied. However, awarranty claim will not be denied ifa vehicle fails to meet emissionsstandards for reasons unrelated to thenon-Honda replacement part.

These Warranties Do Not Cover:• Failures or malfunctions of the

emissions control systems causedby abuse, alteration, accident,misuse, or the use of leadedgasoline.

• Replacement of maintenanceitems such as, but not limited to,spark plugs, filters, hoses, belts,coolant, or lubricants beyond theirfirst required maintenance point.

• Consequential damages such asloss of time or use of the vehicle.

Design and Defects WarrantyCoverageHonda warrants that your Hondaautomobile:1. is designed, built, and equipped to

conform with all emissionsstandards applicable at the time ofsale,

and2. is free from defects in materials

and workmanship that wouldcause it to fail to conform withapplicable emissions requirementsduring the specified time andmileage period.

Refer to the emissions parts list inthe back of this booklet for moreinformation on warranty durationand the emissions systems that arecovered.

To Get Emissions WarrantyServiceRepairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.Within 30 days of the time you takeyour vehicle to the dealer foremissions warranty service, anauthorized Honda dealer is requiredeither to honor your claim for adjust-ment, repair, or replacement, or tonotify you in writing that your claimis being denied, and explain why.

If this time limit is not met, anauthorized Honda dealer willperform the required repairs free ofcharge. The only exceptions allowedare when you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Honda or the dealer.If an authorized Honda automobiledealer is not able to repair yourvehicle within 30 days from the timeyou take it to the dealer, you mayhave your vehicle repaired at anyrepair facility you choose. The onlyexceptions allowed are when you,the owner, request or agree to adelay, or the delay is caused bycircumstances beyond the control ofHonda or the dealer.

If you choose a repair facility that isnot an authorized Honda dealer,Honda will reimburse you for therepair. Parts reimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically-appropriate hourlyrate for Honda's recommended timeallowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced part(s) and acopy of the paid receipt to anyauthorized Honda automobile dealer.

This warranty begins on the date thevehicle is delivered to the firstpurchaser other than an authorizedHonda dealer, or the date it is firstused as a demonstrator, lease, orcompany vehicle, whichever comesfirst.

Performance WarrantyCoverageHonda warrants that, if your vehiclefails an EPA-approved emissionsshort test, during the designatedwarranty period, Honda will, at nocost to you, make all adjustments,diagnoses, repairs, and replacementsnecessary to bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicableemissions standards.

Refer to the emissions parts list inthe back of this booklet for moreinformation on warranty durationand the emissions systems that arecovered.

To Get Emissions PerformanceWarranty ServiceIf your vehicle fails an EPA-approvedshort test, it should be taken to anauthorized Honda automobile dealer,along with proof of the purchasedate and a copy of the test report.NOTE: The emissions test should beperformed with the vehicle at normaloperating temperature. Beforehaving your vehicle tested, drive thevehicle for several miles at 25 mphor above and test the vehicle as soonas possible after driving. Repairscovered by this warranty will be

Seat Belt Limited Warranty

While seat belts cannot completelyremove the possibility of injury, theydo provide a very significant level ofprotection when used properly.Honda believes the best way toenhance your safety is to use yourseat belt. To encourage their use, theseat belts should always be in goodoperating condition.

Time PeriodThis warranty’s coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9), andcontinues for 15 years or 150,000miles, whichever comes first.

Warranty CoverageHonda will, at its option, repair orreplace any Honda seat beltcomponent that fails to functionproperly during normal use. Thisincludes all parts and labor charges.

Rust Perforation Limited Warranty

Only the vehicle’s original ownercan make a claim under thiswarranty. Coverage cannot betransferred to any other person orinstitution (such as an insurancecompany).

Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty’s coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 9), andcontinues for 5 years with nomileage limit. Any body panelsrepaired or replaced under thiswarranty are covered only for thetime remaining in the original5 years of coverage.

Warranty CoverageHonda will repair or replace anyoriginal body panel that rustscompletely through from the insideout (perforated by corrosion). This

includes panels previously repairedor replaced under this warranty.Rust that does not perforate, but iscaused by a defect in material orworkmanship, is covered under theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty. Youwill not be charged for any parts,material, or labor under thiswarranty. The decision to repair,rather than replace, any rusted bodypanel will be made by Honda.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Surface rust on the underbody or

any other part of the vehicleexcept body panels.

• Rusting of body panels that wererepaired, replaced, or refinishedafter retail sale of the vehicle,unless those panels were repairedor replaced under this warranty.

• Body panel rust caused by abuse,misuse, or lack of maintenance.

• Rusting where the paint has beendamaged by road hazards such asstones and debris.

• Rust caused by immersion of thebody panel in water, mud, or sand;or resulting from exposure tocorrosive gas or industrial fallout.

Accessories Installed by the DealerAfter Retail Sale: This warrantybegins on the date the accessory isinstalled on the vehicle. Allaccessories are covered for thelonger of the following two periods:1) the time remaining in the New

Audio and Video ComponentExchange ProgramIf the dealer-installed audio or videocomponent in your Honda developsa problem during this warrantyperiod, visit your Honda dealer. Theservice person will ask you severalquestions about your vehicle and theproblem. With this information, theproper diagnosis can be performedto determine if there is a problemwith the audio or video component.If a problem is found duringdiagnosis, your Honda dealer willorder a replacement component. Thisnormally takes less than a week. Youwill then be notified to bring yourvehicle to the dealership so that theaudio or video component can bereplaced.

Honda may use factory-remanufactured audio or videocomponents, rather than newcomponents, for some warrantyrepairs. Those components, like newcomponents, are covered for theremainder of the Accessory LimitedWarranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Air conditioner refrigerant charge

after the first year, unless requiredas part of a warranty repair.

• Honda accessories that weredesigned for a different model ormodel year than the vehicle onwhich they were installed.

• Any accessory that is improperlyinstalled.

• Any claim presented withoutproof of accessory purchaseand/or installation date andvehicle mileage at time ofinstallation.

Time and Mileage PeriodReplacement parts installed by aHonda dealer are covered for 1 yearor 12,000 miles, whichever comesfirst. Warranted parts purchased froma Honda dealer but installed bysomeone else are covered for 1 yearfrom the date of purchase.

Remanufactured PartsRemanufactured parts installed by aHonda dealer are covered for 3 yearsor 36,000 miles, whichever comesfirst. Some examples of

remanufactured parts are alternators,starters, brake calipers, powersteering racks and pumps, ABSmodulators, automatic transmissions,and driveshafts. Check with yourdealer to determine if aremanufactured part was used torepair your vehicle.Remanufactured parts purchasedfrom a Honda dealer but installed bysomeone else are covered for 3 yearsfrom the date of purchase.

Warranty CoverageHonda will repair or replace any partcovered by this warranty that isdefective in material orworkmanship under normal use. Ifthe part was originally installed bya Honda dealer, the repair orreplacement will be done with nocharge for parts or labor. If the partwas originally installed by someone

else, the cost of the replacement orrepair is covered by Honda, but youmust pay all installation costs.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Claims that do not include

documented proof of purchasedate, installation date, and vehiclemileage at the time of installation.

You must have proof ofpurchase for the failed exhaustcomponent. If the exhaust componentwas originally installed by a Hondadealer, the cost of labor for removaland replacement is also covered bythis warranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Labor cost for removal and

replacement if the defective exhaustcomponent was not originallyinstalled by a Honda dealer.

• Other parts of the exhaust system,including gaskets, hangers, clamps,or other mounting hardware.

Proper OperationYour Honda is designed for use as apassenger vehicle. You should use itto transport people and their luggageon regular roads and highways.Several things you should do to takecare of your Honda are:• Avoid exceeding your vehicle's

load limit. This puts excess strainon the engine, brakes, and severalother systems in your vehicle.Refer to the owner's manual tofind the location of the load limitlabel on your vehicle.

• Operate your Honda on reasonableroads within the legal speed limit.

• Drive your Honda regularly over adistance of several miles. Like aperson, a vehicle functions betterwith regular exercise.

• Always use an unleaded gasolineof the proper octane number (anti-knock index). See your owner'smanual for more information.

MaintenanceYou should check the engine oil andradiator coolant levels each time youfill the gas tank. This protects thevital systems of your Honda andmay help you discover potentialproblems.

Operation and Maintenance of Your Honda

The people at your Honda dealer arefully trained and equipped toefficiently perform scheduledmaintenance on your 2010 Honda.However, service at the dealer is notmandatory for continued warrantycoverage. You can have scheduledmaintenance done somewhere otherthan your Honda dealer, or you cando the maintenance yourself.

If you regularly take your vehicle tothe Honda dealer for scheduledmaintenance, the dealershippersonnel will know its history ifyou need to make a warranty claim.

Make sure your service technicianfills out your Honda Service Historybooklet. If someone else has beenperforming the maintenance, youmay need to provide evidence thatyou have properly maintained thevehicle.

This evidence may consist of one ormore of these items:

• The Honda Service Historybooklet showing the odometermileage and date for each service.Each entry in this booklet shouldbe signed by a person who isqualified to service automobiles.

• Copies of repair orders or otherreceipts that include the odometermileage and date that the vehiclewas serviced. Each receipt shouldbe signed by a qualifiedautomotive service technician.

• A statement that you completedthe maintenance yourself, showingthe odometer mileage and dateyou did the work. Receipts for thereplacement parts (fluids, filters,etc.) should accompany thisstatement.

NOTE: As an aid for the next owner,keep all maintenance receipts andthe Honda Service History bookletwith the vehicle if it is sold.

How to Get Warranty Service

You should take your vehicle alongwith proof of the purchase date to aHonda automobile dealer duringnormal service hours. If yourwarranty claim is for a replacementpart or accessory that was originallyinstalled by a Honda dealer, alsobring proof of the vehicle's mileageat the time of installation.If your vehicle cannot be driven,contact the nearest Hondaautomobile dealer for towingassistance. You do not have to payfor towing to the nearest Hondadealer if the failure is covered byany of the warranties in this book.

Emergency RepairsHonda recognizes that your vehiclecould develop a serious problemneeding immediate repair at afacility other than a Honda dealer.

Honda will reimburse you for therepair if:

• The repair would normally becovered by one of the warrantiesin this booklet.

and• All Honda dealers within 50 miles

of the breakdown were closed atthe time, or there were no Hondadealers within 50 miles.

and• The vehicle was immobile, or

attempting to drive the vehiclewould cause further damage or beunsafe.

For reimbursement, go to any Hondaautomobile dealer. You must show acopy of the paid receipt, and thereplaced part(s). The dealer willreimburse you for the parts at thecurrent manufacturer's suggestedretail price. You will be reimbursedfor labor at a geographically-appropriate labor rate for Honda'srecommended time allowance.If you are ever dissatisfied with awarranty service or decision from aHonda dealer, please refer to theCustomer Satisfaction section onpage 2.

Traveling Outsidethe United StatesIf you are planning to use yourHonda to travel outside the U.S.,you may want to contact HondaAutomobile Customer Service. Theycan give you information on Hondadistributors in the area you plan tovisit. You should also contact thetourist bureaus in the areas you willbe traveling in to find out about theavailability of unleaded gasolinewith the proper octane rating.

Relocating Outsidethe United StatesAny vehicle purchased from anauthorized Honda dealer in thiscountry is manufactured to meetU.S. government safety andemissions specifications. Othercountries not only market differentHonda models, they also have their

own safety and emissions standardsthat differ from U.S. requirements.If you plan to export your vehicle toanother country and register it there,we recommend that you contact thevehicle import agency in thatcountry to determine therequirements. American Honda doesnot have this information.Be advised that modifications toyour vehicle to meet anothercountry's requirements may be veryexpensive and, in some cases,impossible to perform. Parts tomodify a vehicle to meet foreignspecifications are not available inthe U.S.Getting your vehicle serviced inanother country may be difficult,even if you take it to a Honda dealer.Because that country may have

models with different equipment andspecifications, the dealer may nothave parts that are suitable for yourU.S. vehicle.

Warranty Coverage Outsidethe United StatesThe warranties in this booklet coveronly Hondas purchased andregistered in the United States,Puerto Rico, and the U.S. VirginIslands. Hondas registered andnormally driven in other countriesare not covered.Honda dealers outside the U.S. maynot honor these warranties. If youhave your U.S.-specification Hondaserviced by a Honda dealer inanother country (while on vacation,for example), and that service wouldnormally be covered by one of thewarranties in this booklet, pleasecontact American Honda.
