Los artículos definidos – The Definite Articles

*All nouns in Spanish have a gender - they are either feminine or masculine. The definite

articles all mean “the” in English.*

Los Artículos Indefinidos - (The Indefinite Articles)

The indefinite articles (un, una, unos, unas) are used before the noun and in place of the

definite article (el, la, los, las). The un or una mean ”a” in English and the unos or unas mean “some” in English.

How to change (conjugate) a verb in Spanish:

1. Write the whole verb (with the “–ar”/ “–er”/” –ir” ending) and the pronoun. The whole

verb is also called an infinitive verb. Example: Yo escuchar Tú mirar

2. Take off the ending (“-ar”). What you have left is called the stem.

Example: Yo escuchar Yo escuch___ Tú mirar Tú mir_____

3. Add the appropriate ending to the stem. NOTE: Make sure you use the correct ending for the type of verb you are changing; use “–ar” endings with “–ar” verbs.

Example: Yo escucho Tú miras
