Every communication must be complete andadequate. Incomplete messages keep thereceiver guessing, create misunderstanding
and delay actions. Complete messages are more likely to bring
the desired results without the expense ofadditional messages.
They can do a better job of building goodwill.
Messages that contain information thereceiver needs show concern for others.

costly lawsuits that may result ifimportant information is missing.
Communications that seeminconsequential can be surprisinglyimportant if the information theycontain is complete and effective.

In business communications, you should bebrief and be able to say in fewest possiblewords. A concise message is complete
without being wordy. A concise message saves time and expense
for both sender and receiver.
Conciseness contributes to emphasis; by
eliminating unnecessary words, you letimportant ideas stand out.

more interesting to recipients asthey avoid unnecessary information.

The message must be put in simpleterms to ensure clarity. Words mustmean the same thing to the receiver as
they do to the sender. Complex issues must be compressed
into themes, slogans or stereotypes thathave simplicity and clarity.
Accurate and familiar words must beuse with proper intonation, stresses andpauses.
