Our Motto (Service before Self)

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi

To keep alive the spirit of Gandhiji in his own land, DPS-Bopal

endeavours to meet the expectations of others in its attempt to follow perfect altruism. Taking

up the responsibility of facilitating education to the next generation, DPS-Bopal proves to be an

exemplar of assistance at every opportunity. With the wish to extend its helping hand, this

institution has gained the faith of society and grown in leaps and bounds. From instilling values

in students to adopting villages and joining hands with social organizations in teaching under

privileged children, DPS-Bopal has always experienced the joy of sharing.

‘Service before self’ is an intentional, lifelong mission taken up to endorse the idea of a life well-

lived. The idea of living a happy life is to be useful, to be honourable and to be compassionate.

Becoming more generous and compassionate will have real tangible benefits in everyone’s life.

Thus the motto of DPS-Bopal ‘service before self’ shapes the foundation of each and every

student and how they live their lives.

About Us

Welcome to DPS-Bopal Alumni Webpage initiated in 2018 to reconnect and engage everyone

under the banner of their alma mater. This page provides a common platform for the alumni of

the institute to reach out to other alumni across different batches, streams and interests.

This fast growing technological era is defined by its well-connected network. In a time when we

all face paucity of time, this virtual world will definitely shower a vibgyor of memories to forge

ahead with. Dipsites around the world would ardently echo ‘once a Dipsite always a Dipsite’.

With the motive to hold on to the innocence of childhood, and cherish the relationships of faith

and trust, this forum would undeniably nurture strong bonds in trying times for all.

Message from Principal

‘Excellence is a step to on the ladder of success

which is more enjoyable when climbed with

friends.’

Learning is not the mere acquisition of

knowledge but the means to convey it, the

ability to utilize it positively and the skill to

modify it to serve society. Resilience,

determination and persistence are the buzz

words of success in academic circles. Are these

enough for success beyond the school walls?

Success is inevitable when these values are combined with soft skills like co-

operation, team work and emotional maturity. Sometimes, immersed in the world

of books, we forget to sensitize ourselves to our dealings with others. Values like

integrity, respect for yourself and others, and sincerity are some of the qualities

which lead to greater success in any field. Reinforcing words with actions and

deeds are even more important than spreading a large number of new ideas.

‘Service before self’, the DPS motto applies not only to school life but to all

activities and interactions throughout life, defining personality and character. It

serves as a reminder of the debt we owe society that we should strive to repay in

all our endeavours. We cherish the bonds that we have forged with our alumni

whose ventures in the world serve as an inspiration to the student body. Stand

steadfast in your beliefs, that you may lead, care and inspire. That is my message

to you!

Message from Mr. Ankit Bhandari

Each one of us is born with a unique DNA, with a certain potential, which gets built over the years with family, friends, school, college and similar institutions. But it is for certain that the

crucial years of schooling imbibe a value system in us which acts as a compass for life ahead.

DPS Ahmedabad - When somebody says that around me, my eyes lit up, reminding me of the crucial 7 years of my life spent there, the years that to a large extent made me who I am today.

From the time spent at DPS till now, running an Investment company, it's been quite a journey - with the usual highs & lows, lessons learnt, battles won, successes & failures in different phases.

Graduated from DPS in '06, I went to Mumbai for my college & Chartered Accountancy course, worked in a Risk Management

firm for couple of years, then decided to take a plunge into entrepreneurship, followed by a life in Investment Banking. DPS will always remain a reaffirmation for me for all that I could do and all that I am capable of, the confidence instilled in me by my teachers & friends, the expectations & the hopes that we do well in our lives and more so, go on to become responsible citizens of our country.

The value of teachings that we received in our school goes way beyond the textbooks and classrooms, testimony to that fact that we are still in touch with our teachers and still seek their guidance & blessings long after leaving the boundaries of school. A school is an institution which grooms us as individuals and collectively grooms the future of the country, and we were privileged to study in a great school with some of the most amazing teachers. The values of friendship, loyalty, respect, humility and tolerance that I learnt through my school has kept me steady in life, and the mistakes made in school act as a reminder of how we can always learn & improve ourselves.

Something I wrote in one of my poems perfectly describes the strength, courage and values that my school has given me for life:

"Life has different plans for us though, We walk, we run, we fly, but we also fall..

Each time we fall, we must get up, Never quit, never stall..

You are braver than that, you are stronger than that, What you need to win is already within you, know that and you shall have it all!”

I will always remain grateful to DPS, to my teachers, to my friends for making me who I am today. Best Regards

Shrey Patel

Batch :2010

Thank you for everything, Alma Mater!!! After graduating from school, I cleared several exams to get into top engineering schools across the country. The highlight of that was me getting selected for the Indian Naval Academy - Naval Aviation with AIR 168. I ultimately pursued Chemical Engineering from the renowned Dharamsinh Desai University.

Before completing my B.Tech., I concluded my independent research and registered a process patent in my name. Simultaneously, my case study on Waste Water Management in Dye Intermediate Chemicals was published in an International Journal of Innovative Research in Science, Engineering and Technology.

Then, I worked as Chemical Research Engineer with M/s Bodal Chemicals Limited. In consideration of my performance in the company, I was given an opportunity to pursue further studies. I did MS – Advanced Process Integration and Design from the University of Manchester, UK, which has an alumni network of Noble Prize winners and scientists like Niels Bohr, Ernst Rutherford, etc.

In 2017, I re-joined the same company, as a Process Engineer, and now spearhead an INR 700-crore greenfield project. I am also a part of its core committee which investigates several important technical aspects of the organization.

It’s an absolute honour to be an alumnus of Delhi Public School. I will remain indebted to my alma mater for inculcating qualities that helped me to strive for excellence and achieve whatever I could in these years.

Rushi Yogesh

I, Rushi Yogesh Patel, passing year 2017, currently a BTech.(IT) student. Everyone has a turning point in their lives, when they realize their true abilities and potential, I had it too in my 9th grade when I joined DPS. Yes, unlike other students I joined DPS a bit late and got just 4 golden years to spent, but they were life changing. DPS has played a vital role in my journey from being ordinary, shy and timid to being confident, expressive and strong. It changed my vision in such a way that today I don't like to settle for ordinary/average in whatever task I do, I give my 100% into it and get the best out of it. One of the best things I have developed in DPS is my oratory skills, I used to be very poor in English and lacked some good oratory skills, but now I'm one of the good orators in my college and it’s helping me a lot. Moreover, DPS has also played a major role in reshaping my personality, dressing sense, social awareness and developing a good ethic. In addition to all this, DPS instills values and ethics, that makes a

man, a true gentleman. All this helps me to outperform in every aspect of my life. Proud be a DIPSITE.

Radhika Sahana

I, Radhika Sahana- a student of the 2015-2016 batch, Stream Humanities. I am currently doing a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication with Cinema Studies in University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Besides this I work in McCain Foods. DPS had always been a great support during my journey of learning new things daily. The teachers were more like friends who would help us study and score great marks. The faculty supported me a lot for being victorious in my Table Tennis matches too. The school had great celebrations for every event and also brought in speakers from different fields who would give us applied knowledge. DPS not only supports students till their 12th but also brings in colleges to speak to the students for their future. This school has given me great friends, teachings and lots of memories.

Tanmay Jetly

I am a former student of Delhi Public School, Bopal graduating in the 2017 - 2018 academic year, presently a bachelor student at the University of Queensland, Australia in Business Department.

DPS has played an integral role in my life by educating me, teaching me how to make the most out of every opportunity, making me an organised person and most importantly imparting discipline in my life.

DPS has not just given me companions who are much the same as family yet in addition given a great deal of glad minutes which have now turned into recollections that I will treasure till eternity.

Proud to be a Dipsite.

Milauni Shodhan

MilauniShodhan (Batch 2014-2015)- Currently a student in the fourth year at Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Bangalore studying visual communication and graphic design. I was blessed to get an opportunity to go for a student exchange programme at Saint Etienne, France in my semester 6 at Srishti and I would like to thank DPS for giving me the confidence and the grooming that helped me figure out my pathway even in unknown territories. DPS has also played a very important role in shaping my career today as I was offered Fine Arts as a subject which is not offered at many other places. The learning from the same have been extremely helpful all throughout my journey as a creative practitioner. Once a Dipsite, always a Dipsite!

Shrinjay Vyas

Batch : 2016 Through an embarking journey of 14 years at DPS, my character was moulded in such a way that prepared me to relish the ventures of the ever competing outside world. Not only my academic frontier was strengthened but also my virtues, etiquettes, vocational, speaking, temperament, leadership and management skills were polished up to a new level. A relieving sense of Healthcare and Fitness was instilled in me through the Sporting Activities and concerned efforts of the Physical Education Department teachers. As a result of all these I endeavored to achieve the prestigious Kushagra Award for seven consecutive years with many such chances to participate and even win for institution’s pride.

VISHWAJA PARIKH

Year of passing- 2017 Student at LDRP-ITR, GANDHINAGAR (electrical engineering) DPS is not only an educational institute but a grace I can ever carry in my life with pride. The school has moulded my character into a confident, bold and a mature person with leadership qualities. It has not only enlightened me with education but also given many golden opportunities like participation in sports and many co-curricular activities.

My journey was filled with sparkles which I will treasure forever. The school has always provided a very warm and cool environment which has discovered hidden talents of all students.

DPS has wide parameters in making our students good citizens at the level of city, state, nation, in fact, the entire globe After getting into college, I took part in several activities such as NSS volunteer, presented dance in the bridge course, elocution in sangat and sports.

I even received scholarship from college because I stood first in electrical department.

Jasmeen Kaur Guliani

I have played the roles of a prefect and a captain, when I was in DPS. DPS has always motivated me to be an all-rounder in every field and to be the best in everything I do. Maybe, it’s because of all the qualities that I have developed in DPS. I am a gold medalist in Metallurgical and Material’s engineering from Indus University and later on went to Canada to pursue my master’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Humber College, Toronto.

When I was at Canada I bagged the second price in a seed fund competition organized by Humber Incubator for my business plan and received a price money worth CAD 1500. Currently, I am working as a Co-coordinator in the Executive office at MICA-The school of Ideas, India’s premium management school specializing in Strategic management and communications in a digitally design enabled world. I am associated with MICA for almost a year and 4 months now, and since than I have been promoted twice. I joined MICA as a project associate and then got promoted to the position of a program coordinator at MICA Incubator, my recent designation is that of a coordinator at executive office at MICA.

Year of Passing DPS: 2013 Professional Status: Deputy Associate – Human Resources (Learning & Organizational Development), Ford India Pvt. Ltd.

DPS has always been close to my heart, for it is a place where I have spent the most memorable years of my life. No amount of superlatives can do justice to the phenomenon called “Delhi Public School”. Continuing my journey post-DPS, I did a five year BBA – MBA Integrated course from the Institute of Management, Nirma University. During my college days, I got certified in Data Analytics. I also got certified in Citizen Journalism by US Consulate General, Mumbai. I have published research papers as well. Very recently, I had one of my case studies published at an International level. After college, I started working with Ford Motor Company.

After all these years, when I look back and see the foundation that DPS helped me build, I feel blessed! This school was not just a building of bricks and blocks for me but a light house. It prepared me with the knowledge to bridge the gap between the mind and the world. DPS taught me – “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”, and yes, I’ve so far been able to achieve all the milestones that I set for myself. My sincere regards & best wishes to the entire DPS, Bopal family!

Abhay Venkatesh

I spent 12 years of my life at DPS, so it is fair to say that the school played a formative role in my life. From being part of the football team, to winning important quiz competitions such as the TCS IT Wiz, I took advantage of the diverse opportunities available at DPS. When I was starting a not-for-profit with my friends, the faculty at DPS welcomed us and gave us a platform that was critical in getting our initiative started. After receiving an enriching, and well-rounded education at DPS, I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin - Madison to study Computer Sciences and Mathematics. At UW-Madison, I won a number of awards, such as the John W. Jung

Memorial Scholarship for my leadership in Madison Enactus, which also won a number of awards for its social entrepreneurship initiatives. I interned at a startup at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad. I collaborated with MIT on a robotics research project in my sophomore year, and interned at Stanford, at two research labs, working in robotics and Human-Computer Interaction. In my junior year, I interned at Facebook, implementing some of the most critical updates that Mark has been talking about recently, and India is one of 7 countries my work impacts. I am currently involved in Computer Vision and Machine Learning research, for which I won the Hilldale Undergraduate Research Fellowship. After graduation, I will be following my dreams to work at a top startup funded by the first investors in Facebook, and co-founded by individuals who have previously built multiple billion dollar companies.

Divya Gulati

Batch:2009-2010 I pursued my graduation from IGNOU University, while simultaneously studying for an advance diploma in 3D animation and visual effects. Since October, 2013 I have been working as a freelance 3D architectural interior designer. While I work from home, my clientele consists of companies based in Ahmedabad and international ones too. I believe that DPS has been instrumental in my achievements thus far. From faculty to infrastructure, I believe that it has set a benchmark for others to follow. I take great pride in being associated with this institution.

Satvik Mardia

Year :1999-2012 I am Satvik Mardia. I was a student of Delhi Public School starting in the year 1999 till the year 2012. I am a Chartered Accountant, currently working with Deloitte, at Ahmedabad, as a Deputy Manager in the Audit and Assurance function. I perform Statutory audits as well as certain advisory assignments. I have also been recently accredited as a facilitator for the internal audit quality and professional skills enhancement within Deloitte, as one of the youngest in the nation. I am sure these skills too, have been imbibed within my nature, through the course of my schooling with the amazing teachers, and an ever-inviting environment for learning. I give a big chunk of credit for what I have achieved to my years at DPS. The methodology, the connect that the teachers have with students as

well as their parents, and the transparent culture towards learning helps a lot in the education of an individual, considering the fact that these years set the foundation of our careers – academic or otherwise. I am proud to have been a student of this institution, and will always be obliged to it, for all the successes that I may achieve in life.

Sahil C

My years of learning at DPS gave me the best education possible. For all my success, I wish to give a big shout out to DPS Prerna (previously known as Nalanda), for I feel fortunate and indebted to the initiative. Not everyone learns the same way and acknowledging dyslexia and giving me an option to learn differently was a game changer for me. (I hope Prerna is still operational for life wouldn't be the same without it.) At present, I am a business consultant/guru at Shopify and I run a successful e-commerce platform called fluxsocks.com. I have previously worked as a visual effects artist on Hollywood films (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4838455/)

Jayneel Modi

Batch – 2015 DPS has helped me enhance my personality and has ingrained values in me that are essential to be a good human being. The school has established a reputation for itself of being an excellent English-medium institution that emphasizes on extra-curricular activities, my last two years there stand testimony to the same. I received great exposure via an intra-school business competition known as “DPS kaBaazigar”, where I got a platform to execute my ideas. The faculty was very resourceful and supportive throughout. YaliHo!

Shikha Sathwara

Batch: 2017-18 Current Status: Student at Ahmedabad University In the little time since having graduated from school, I have been given opportunities to write for a magazine on various gender-sensitive topics. In the 14 years that I spent in this precious institution called, DPS,I learnt values in addition to imbibing knowledge which gives me an advantage over my peers. I was on Cloud 9 when I saw the school ranked as No.1 in the city and state, and 8thin the country. It owes its success to the teachers and the support that they have provided for students. I believe that the school continues to evolve with every passing year and become a better place for students.

Poorti Mehta

Batch – 2008

DPS Ahmedabad was my third school and the place where I spent a majority of my schooling years. This institute was a world in itself. From academics to all kinds of extracurricular activities, we received immense exposure. We were groomed by the best faculty. Our teachers were not only our gurus but also our friends. They prepared us for the world after school.

This place has given me a plethora of memories that I cherish till this day - the fun on the sports ground and laboratories, the amphitheatre shenanigans and the mischief in the school buses. Words can’t describe the feelings I hold for my alma mater. I made the best of friends here most of whom are still in touch with me.

Post my schooling I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. I graduated in 2012 and have been working since. I have worked across industries such as education, manufacturing and finance. Currently I am based out of New Delhi and working with SAGE Publications as a Business Analyst – IT. DPS Ahmedabad is a place that balances all the aspects of a sound education. Students here can excel in any area – academics, sports, art, public speaking etc and are given equal opportunities to grow.

Shubhadeep Roy

Batch: 2011

After school, I obtained the rank of 7075 in AIEEE, 2011 and went on to pursue Chemical Engineering at NIT Trichy where I was also the Co-Editor of its College Magazine. I then worked as a Consultant at Fractal Analytics for Fortune 500 FMCG companies, dealing with Indian as well as Foreign Clients. In 2017, I cleared CAT and received admission in IIM Kozhikode. Since then, I have interned as Consultant at Deloitte, Offices of the US and also handle the Public Relations and Social Media for IIM Kozhikode.

It was the support and learnings in 11th and 12th grade that helped me clear AIEEE with such a score. The co-curricular activities and events allowed me to pursue and win laurels even now in quizzing and football. More importantly the exposure at Times of India NiE helped me discover my passion for writing and editing.

Ria Shroff

Batch : 2017-18 I entered the school hesitant and unsure of the challenges that awaited me. I left hesitant, but well aware and prepared for the challenges that knocked at my doorstep. The joys of entering adulthood are mildly tarnished by the sorrow of leaving behind the corridors of school. Yet, that has been my greatest learning here- life is all about moving forward.

It is not the memories of the text books that we carry along with us, but the best times of our lives that we have spent with our friends and all those learnings and principles instilled in us by our doting teachers. My deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all my teachers who have shaped me into who I am today and to Delhi Public School for helping each one of us be what we are and proudly say, I am what I am and I am ready to proceed on my chosen path.

Your constant faith in us has taught us to believe in ourself and our astounding capabilities. It is with this conviction and confidence that I stepped out of the portals of DPS. At present, I'm studying at St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad and pursuing literature, something I've always been very passionate about. I thank my school for everything I am today and everything I will be in the future.

G. Anjanalakshmi

Batch: 2014-16 (Humanities) Current Status: Pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad

Delving deeper into the subject of one’s liking is always enjoyable. In the past two years I have participated and won in National Economic Fests and was a part of the Organising Committee for our college’s fests. My interest in Journalism led me to undertake a one-year course following which I worked as the Assistant Copy Editor for an international magazine. I gained proficiency in Japanese language and was a part of the language learners’ panel that met and interacted with Mrs. Akie Abewhen she, along with her husband, the Japanese Premier, visited Ahmedabad last year.

I look back at my school days with great fondness. DPS provided the right kind of impetus and the freedom to explore beyond academics. The connect with teachers is something that can neither be replaced nor forgotten. Even after I joined college, I got the opportunity to be a part of the school activities through the Model United Nations conference hosted by DPS. I shall always remain in debted to my teachers and to my Alma mater.

Richie Patnaik

Batch - 2013-2015

Current Status - M.A in English Literature at Delhi University

After school, I pursued a B.A in English Literature at St. Xavier's Ahmedabad, graduated with 1st Class Distinction (71.34%), secured 8th rank in DUET-2018 for M.A in English Literature Some of my most cherished memories were born here at DPS Bopal. Instead of a mechanical and dull method of teaching, my teachers always valued qualitative learning more than cramming random facts or simply producing rote answers.

Apart from having some of the best teachers I had the luck of studying with, they were also my pillars of support and advice during good and bad times. They made DPS a place to look forward to rather than dreading it. The myriad experiences I had here shaped me into the person I am today. Whatever modicum of success I have achieved till now, I owe it to them. I will never forget the familiar halls of DPS, filled with the cacophony of fidgety students, or even the pall of gloom during the time of our exams. The delight of getting a P.E class is a memory I look back on fondly even today. I believe that DPS is more than just an institution for offering education, since it teaches and prepares us to face the fast approaching world of adulthood, with all its joys and sorrows, and how to rise to every challenge with the determination to do one's best, and overall, become a better person.

PARNIKAA MITRA

Batch: 2004-2018

Currently pursuing chemical engineering at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.

“The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next “

This is how important school is for all of us. The journey that I undertook in school has shaped me into the person I am. For me , the DPS campus is not just another destination , it’s my second home. The corridors, classrooms, the sports complex have seen a series of ups and downs in my life and have given me priceless experiences.

The teachers, with their consistent compassion and dedication have me always supported me and pushed me to achieve my goals.

This led to my exceptional grades which made it easy to get into the college I desired. Apart from academics, the school has always promoted sports and co-curricular which helped me to pursue tennis as a skill.

I was also given the opportunity to hone my leadership skills as a captain. All in all, my alma mater holds a special place in my heart and I will forever be grateful to DPS.
