Channels will feed associated tracks. (i.e. Channel 4feeds Track 4.) If a track is put into RECORD READY,the associated channel is disengaged from the stereomix so that it can be monitored through the CUE mix.

Inputs on the 788 can be routed directly to a mixer channel, or theycan be assigned to the submixer. On the main mixer, any input can
be assigned to any channel.
The stereo mix can be assigned to mixer
channels for live submixing or
bouncing tracks.
Tracks from the recorder section can be assigned to the main mixer. Tracks can
only be assigned to their associated mixer channels. (i.e. Track 1 to channel 1) Tracks
are always active in the TRACK CUE mix.

The monitor section offers the ability to listen to different locations in the mixing process. The letters in the chart below match up with the letters in the chart at left to indicate where the audio is being monitored
