******* MORE ON LENT….

What Should I Do During Lent During Lent, we should practice the 3 main disci-plines of prayer, fasting and service to those in need. These practices offer us all opportunities to grow in faith and in love for God.

******* More Feast and Fast During Lent

Fast from apathy; feast on enthusiasm. Fast from unrelenting pressures; feast on unceasing prayer . Fast from thoughts that weaken; feast on promises that inspire. Fast from words that pollute; feast on speech that purifies. Fast from personal anxiety; feast on the fullness of truth.

******* Lenten Lunches

Once again, the churches of Warwick will conduct Lenten Lunches during the Wednesdays of Lent. They are held at the Methodist Church on Forester Avenue and begin at noon. The cost is $8.00. Each church takes a turn serving a lunch and their minis-ter gives a short reflection. It is a lovely town tradi-tion. All are invited.

******* Oh, How We Danced…..

On Sunday, June 28, at the 12:15 Mass, we will hon-or those married couples who will be celebrating their Golden and Silver Wedding Anniversaries. If you were married in 1970 or 1995, please contact the rectory as soon as possible.

Hospitality Sunday The next Hospitality Sunday will be March 26.

Safety and Security

Several parishioners, as well as parish staff, including, Fr. Jack, Fr. Reynor, Steve Mandracchia, Katie Bisaro, Matt Forestiere, Walter Beatty, George Knight and Mary Juliano have been meeting since the fall to coordinate and plan for a new security ministry for our parish. This ministry is being formed to address the preparedness of the parish, in dealing with all types of emergency situa-tions, whether they be medical, fire, weather or violence. The mission of this ministry is for us, the parishioners to continue to feel safe and comfortable during worship and special events on our parish campus, while always hav-ing an awareness of our surroundings and a plan in the event of an incident. The volunteers of this ministry will be the "first eyes" of the parish - whether serving in the capacity of a greeter, usher, lector, medical personnel, first responder, law enforcement, disaster recovery or financial. Each and every person serving this ministry is vital! If you are interested in learning more and serving on this ministry - the more the better - please sign up in the atri-um after mass or in the church office. A meeting of intro-duction is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 at 7pm in the church. The ministry coordinators are compiling a "play book" for possible scenarios we may encounter and will be scheduling training sessions for all involved. If you have questions or comments, please email:

[email protected] Thank you for considering serving the parishioners of St. Stephens.
