"The proposed changesare in line with Tamil Nadu policy. The governmentwill be giving options to investors to either set up asingle unit or a park, likethe existing IT Parks. Ancillary units like MSMEsmanufacturing defence-related parts, operating andmaintenance units andtier I-III manufacturingunits can be set up," said anofficial. So far, the government has not set any targets for single units or defence parks, he added.
The defence parks arehigh capital intensive andhence UP would have to ensure that its policy is like orbetter than Tamil Nadu'sto make it attractive for investors, the official said.
Under the existing policy, the incentives, for defence parks are same as forsetting up private industrial parks and there is no capital subsidy.
' Sources said that landallocation is expected tostart in September, oncethe existing defence andaerospace manufacturingpolicy is revised. Officialssaid that efforts are on tobring the policy at par withthat of Tamil Nadu, thesecond state where a defence corridor is proposed.
The modified policyaims to push development of defence and aerospace parks in the state. Itproposes a capital subsidy for development ofthese parks at 10% of eligible fixed assets, subjectto a maximum of Rs 10crore, provided that the

The already notifiednodes include Agra, Ali-garh, Chitrakoot, Jhansi,Kanpur and Jalaun. Landacquisition has alreadystarted in these nodes andmore than 90% has alreadybeen acquired in Jhansiand Chitrakoot.
