The ceremony is part of the nationwide “Keep the Spirit of ‘45 Alive” commemorative weekend to honor the more than 16 million members of the Greatest Generation who served during the war. Officials present during the Ceremony: COL Patrick Anderson LTC Mark Whiteman MAJ Terry Oedekoven LCDR Chris Lord 1. The 70 th anniversary of the end of World WAR II , under the auspice of Defense Attaché at United States Department of Defense Patrick Anderson was held on 16 August 2015. The ceremony started with the welcoming remarks given by the undersigned in English. The American National Anthems was played. the undersigned introduced Colonel Patrick Anderson who gave his speech. 2. Wreath was laid 3. Taps and 3 bells were played and a moment of silence was observed. The ceremony ended successfully and guests were invited to visit the cemetery. There were about 25 people (American and Tunisian) in attendance. The cemetery staff did an outstanding job preparing for this ceremony. The ceremony went very well. Colonel Anderson , the Embassy personnel who were present , and all guests in attendance congratulated us for the success of the ceremony and for keeping the cemetery well maintained.
