After arrival at Sorong Airport, guests are
transferred to Rascal and greeted with a warm
welcome from the crew. Lunch is followed
by a cruise to Mioskon. This 6-hour cruise
takes us past many spectacular, untouched
islands, including Batanta and Kri, as we
leave behind the hust le and bust le of

everyday l i fe. Mioskon Bay is teeming
with lush jungle, home to a variety of birds.
The mangroves, on paddleboards, kayaks
or by snorkelling, provide endless hours
of exploration. Dinner will be served on
board. If in season, catch sight of a blue whale
or two.
DAY 2 – KABUI BAY
Awake to the views of Mioskon and Waigeo,
where there is a range of islands to explore and
dive. Not a diver? We can visit the local villages
and trek into the tropical rainforest to try and
spot the famous birds of paradise as Waigeo is
a haven for some of the world’s rarest birds. We
then cruise to Kabui Bay and take a tender tour
of Kabui Passage, a narrow channel nearly one
nautical mile long, separating the islands of
Gam and Waigeo. Mangrove wetlands and the
tropical forest vegetation above cast a mystical
emerald green hue on the corals, whilst the air
rings with the jungle cries of its fauna.
We cruise to Yanggefo, hugging the Waigeo
coastl ine, passing local f ishing vi l lages
through the Dampier Strait. Upon arrival at the
magnificent Yanggefo, we will enjoy a tender
tour to explore this spectacular mangrove
paradise boasting an abundance of flora and
fauna or dive at one of the local dive sites
teeming with sea life. Dinner will be served on
board before we spend a tranquil night in this
peaceful wilderness.
DAY 3 – YANGGEFO
DAY 4 – ALJUI BAY
Diving
Awake to the cries of the many colourful
species of birds that have made this area their
home. Dive or enjoy watersports in the famous
Citrus Ridge before we set course for Aljui Bay,
set amongst a cluster of islands in the sheltered
western bay of Waigeo. The 3-hour cruise
enables us to stop by the wonderful white sand
beaches of Wofu for a relaxing beach set up
with games for the energetic travellers amongst
us. Arriving in Aljui, either dive or just relax
and soak up the stunning views from the deck.
With its dazzling array of creatures, Aljui offers
coral walls full of seemingly electrifying fire
clams, tiny shrimp and crabs, and a colourful
assortment of nudibranch. The nearby jetty
offers a fantastic opportunity to spot macro
creatures such as ghost pipefish, blue-ringed
octopus, and bobtail squid, while the pearl
farm offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
see how pearls are extracted from their mother.
Having spent the night on the Equator,
we cruise to the picturesque Wayag for an
afternoon dive, snorkel, kayak or paddleboard
in the magnificent turquoise blue lagoons.
Comprising a series of undulating limestone
cliffs topped with lush vegetation, the lagoon
is strewn with beautiful islets. We climb Mount
DAY 6 – WAYAG
We set course for Kawe and the Equator Islands,
located right across the Equator. The island
of Kawe forms an amazing coral network with
its myriad of tiny islands. The currents attract
shoals of fish and guests might even get the

opportunity to snorkel with reef sharks. Take a
tender tour zig-zagging the Equator Islands for
a truly unique experience before we anchor for
the night.
Pindito to absorb the breathtaking view,
remembering our cameras for a truly rare and
stunning aerial shot. We return to Rascal for
an adventurous diving session, followed by
a tender tour or kayak around this amazing
area, keeping a lookout for patrolling black tip
sharks.
We set course for Yanggefo and back to the
overnight shelter of the mangroves. A short
cruise takes us to Arborek Village, where we
experience the generous hospitality of the
locals and the simplicity of life on this tiny

island, with its population of only 197. Here,
we see exceptional local handicrafts made
from sea pandan leaves such as hats and noken
(string bags). We can also snorkel or dive with
Manta rays at Manta Sandy.
Manta Ray Spotting
