Acceptable answers are:

1. Installation of Windows 8 is almost the same as installing Windows XP. However, you must see to it that the requirements of installing Windows 8 must be meet in order for it to work properly. (Correct size of HDD, the motherboard and processor type, and enough memory and disk space).2. The proper way of handling or holding a memory module is by holding the memory module by the outside edges only. Before you begin handling a memory module or opening the case on a computer system, be sure to attach an antistatic device to your body and then to an unpainted metal component on the chassis of your system. Computer systems are susceptible to potentially damaging electrostatic discharge pulses. An Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), also known as static electricity, is a transfer of energy that can damage sensitive computer circuitry.3. Unplug your unit and carefully check what is the cause of power supply unit failure. Check all power supply connectors and see if there is something shorting them. Request for another good known power supply and test the unit again.4. Rules and Regulations are given to any person new and unfamiliar to the place. As a new comer and as a trainee, the first you remember is to follow the house rules and regulations.

1. What is the function Northbridge Chip IC? Southbridge Chip IC?

2. What do you mean by volatile memory? Non-volatile memory?

3. What do you mean in flashing the BIOS?

4. Safety is the first concern of the job. Why we need to use an antistatic wrist strap?

5. What is primary partition?

Acceptable Answers are:

1. The Northbridge is the chip or chips that connect aCPUtomemory, the PCI bus, Level 2 cache and AGP activities. The Northbridge chips communicate with the CPUthrough the FSB. The Southbridge is the chip that controls all of the computers I/O functions, such as USB,audio, serial, the system BIOS, the ISA bus, the interrupt controller and the IDE channels.

2. Volatile memoryis computer storage that only maintains its data while the device is powered. Most RAM (random accessmemory) used for primary storage in personal computers isvolatile memory.Non-volatileis a term used to describe anymemoryorstoragethat is saved regardless if the power to the computer is on or off. The best example of non-volatile memory and storage is a computerhard drive, flash memory, andROM.

3. Flashing the BIOS is akin to updating software on your operating system but is a different process because the BIOS software is stored, not the hard drive, but rather on a chip on the motherboard. In order to update the BIOS, the software chip must be completely erased and updated with a flash utility; this is essentially the process known as flashing the BIOS. This is referred to as flashing because the BIOS code is stored in flash memory.

4. An anti-static wrist strap is a key piece of safety gear that helps to prevent the buildup of static electricity near sensitive electronics or other projects where static charge could damage electronics or cause safety issues.

5. Primary partition is the very hard disk partition which can be used to install Windows operating system, and only one primary partition can be set as active to boot operating system at a time. It is created by using unallocated space rather than free space.
