So, it is important for you to familiarize yourself with your plumbing system that you can minimize the damage and solve minor plumbing problems on your own. Here are seven simple things YOU can do to prevent wasting water indoors and to keep a check on your plumbing system!
Tips 1: Fix Toilet Leaks:
Toilet leaks are often silent yet easy to identify and fix. If these are left undetected, it can cause you huge water loss. Make sure to check whether the water level in your toilet tank is not above the overflow tube. Check your toilet flapper in your toilet tank as it becomes worn over time and does not work effectively. You can test for a toilet leak by placing a few drops of food coloring or a toilet dye tablet in your tank and wait for a few minutes.
Tips 2: Low-Flow Faucets Arabic Typesetting
Check the amount of water flowing from each faucet. A leaky faucet that drips once per second can waste more than 8 gallons a day, which counts 3,000 gallons per year! Install a low-flow aerator if your existing toilet faucet flows above 2.5 gallons per minute. On an average, a 5-minute shower with a regular showerhead uses 7 gallons of water, while a 5-minute shower with a low-flow showerhead uses 2.5 gallons of water. Therefore, replace your older showerheads that can waste thousands of gallons per month with the new efficient models.
Tips 6: Maintaining sewer lines:
Maintain and keep sewer lines from clogging by using a live enzyme. The product will save you from the hassle and tons of money in the future.
