Water Environment Association of South Carolina | District Three | VOL. 28, Number 7 | March 2016 Chair’s Column I was informed earlier this week that the deadline for this Chair order to get it to print and out in the mail on time. I typically have it ready well in advance; however, when the realization came to me that this is my last one, I began to panic. I wasn’t sure how to approach it or what I really wanted that on paper. I will give it my best effort. The past year has been an Committee Meetings, Mid-Year, golf tournament, Family Night, the awards, the meals, the drinks, the laughs and the worries. They all have one thing in common – the people involved. The Capital District members’ involvement is outstanding. I think about the work, the time, the energy and the effort put forth by this group of people who know no boundaries. This group, the Capital District productive and energetic group of volunteers I know. As Chair, I never had the chance to delegate or hand out tasks, because this group jumped at the opportunity to dive in head came their way, similar to the way Denver’s defensive line handled Cam Newton in the Super Bowl. I can’t praise this group of people them for their spirit and support throughout the past year. These folks are remarkable and should never be taken for granted. On January 21st Capital District held its Annual Awards Meeting at thank you to our sponsors, Town Water and Sewer Commission, and to our co-sponsors Collins Controls, Godwin (Xylem) and Blanchard. The technical sessions were top notch, as well as the meal which was attended by 156 members. Congratulations again to all our award recipients and thank you to all involved.
