A letter from our PastorWeve celebrated Easter with great joy. Last Sunday, we marked the end of Easter Week with the celebration of the Octave of Easter (the Second Sunday of Easter). Both Easter Sunday and the Octave of Easter are solemnities that we celebrate with great joy. Even the dismissal of the Mass on both Sundays are sung! Our Easter joy is so great that it cannot be contained by a day or even a week. The Easter Season is a time for prayer and reflection on the great depth and meaning of Easter joy and Paschal Mystery. It is the most joyous of all the seasons of the Church year, the liturgical year. (How joyous, you ask? Did you know that in the early centuries of the Church, it was forbidden to kneel during the Easter season?) Consider that the Easter Season (50 days) is longer than Lent (40 days); the time of joy and unfolding paschal mystery is greater than the time of preparation and penance. Our joy, our thanks and praise, our Alleluias extend all the way to Pentecost. We need this time to reflect on Resurrection, Easter and our role as witnesses of the Risen Christ drawing from his love, grace, gifts and presence. He is Risen—it is true! This is a season to grow as disciples. Christ is alive and offers each of us a share in his Risen Life. The Easter Season is our time to encounter the Risen Jesus in new ways. May we be inspired to share in his saving work and witness to his presence throughout the year—all for the good of the world. Are you ready to deepen your discipleship with Jesus? Pray to be awakened in discipleship this Easter Season! Fr. A letter from our Pastor…

We’ve celebrated Easter with great joy.
