2 Preparations for installationExplanation The following work steps must be performed prior to the installation.
Additional work steps are also required when performing an extended instal-lation.
Preparation 1. Place the unit as close as possible to the designated installation site.
2. Connect the unit to the power supply system.
3. Switch the unit on.
The furnace door automatically moves down.
4. Remove the transport safety device from the furnace chamber.
Supplement for extended installati-on (installing the heating elements)
1. Switch the unit off.
2. Disconnect the unit from the power supply system.

4 Extended installationExplanation The extended installation is described here if the inFire HTC furnace still must
be equipped with the heating elements and the thermocouple.
4.1 Opening the cover of the furnace cham-ber
The furnace door is open; the furnace is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
1. Unscrew the Torx screws (A) with contact washers from the furnace cover (B).
2. Push cover (B) toward the front.
The upper part of the furnace chamber is now exposed. The empty holes for the heating elements (C) are visible.
4.2 Installation of the heating elements
CAUTION Risk of short circuit! When installing the heating elements, it is essential to make sure that the screws, stranded ribbon cables and clamps used in the heating circuit do not cause a short circuit.
CAUTION Breaking risk! The heating elements are extremely brittle and fragile. Handle these ele-ments with utmost care. A broken heating element cannot be replaced free of charge!

1. Carefully place the heating elements (G) with screws in the holes toward the outside.
2. Plug the matching stranded ribbon cables (H) onto the two heating ele-ments located next to the cable lugs of the heating current cable connec-tions (see illustration!).
3. Screw the stranded ribbon cables securely onto the cable lugs.
NOTE Risk of short circuitThe screw heads (I) must be located opposite each other to reduce the risk of a short circuit.

4. Connect the heating elements to the matching stranded ribbon cables (J).
5. Fasten the stranded ribbon cables with the supplied clamps (K).
6. Check the heating circuit for a possible short circuit.
The heating circuit is now completely installed.
NOTE Alignment of the standed ribbon cablesMake sure that the cable lugs of the individual ribbon cables point to the in-side!

4.3 Installation of the thermocouple
Explanation The procedure for installing the thermocouple on the installation plate provi-ded for that purpose is described here.
The installation plate is attached to the furnace with a cable tie during trans-port.
Installation
1. Cut off cable tie M, i.e. the one fastening the installation plate (L) to the fur-nace.
2. Remove the cut cable ties.
3. Carefully screw the thremocouple (N) down tight onto the installation pla-te.
4. Screw the red and the white cable onto the thermocouple. Note the co-lor! Red connects to "+" and white connects to "-".
ATTENTION Risk of charringThe cut cable ties could be charred if left in the furnace.

4.4 Placing the thermocouple in the furnace chamber
Positioning
1. Place the insulating plate shown in the illustration (O) on top of the upper part of the furnace chamber so that the holes in the insulating plate line up with the ones in the furnace chamber.
2. Insert the thermocouple through the holes in the insulating plate and the furnace chamber, being careful not to tilt it.
3. Push the legs of the mounting plate through the insulating plate and into the upper part of the furnace chamber. The mounting plate must be pu-shed in until it contacts the insulating plate.
The upper part of the furnace chamber is now fully assembled.
Check CAUTION Incorrect readings!
Inaccurate positioning of the thermocouple can result in incorrect readings. The thermocouple must protrude 30mm ± 3mm into the furnace cham-ber!
Check its position in the furnace chamber with a suitable measuring tool.
