What concerns us today• Trust erosion by increased cybercrime and privacy

threats to citizens and society,• Citizens and policy makers are more aware about

privacy and trust,• Paradoxically, in parallel, a shift of social and personal

behaviour towards more promiscuity,• New technologies and solutions introduce new

challenges to security and privacy,• Need to handle a dynamic environment with more and

changing players.

What citizens ask

• How good are the services?• Are they dependable?• What about the reputation the provider?• Will they continue to exist?• Is my data safe?• Do the follow best practices?• What if something goes wrong?

• Since someone is making business, who is footing the bill?

• For many services, are citizens the customer or the product?

• If we are paying, should we not be given the option to pay with other means than with our personal data?

business enablers, e.g. e-health solutions without trust hard to sell
