    Location and Regional Profile

GIFP, which has a status of a free

    economic zone until 2030, benefits

from its strategic location in close

proximity to Moldovas borders withRomania and Ukraine. Due to its easy

access to the Black Sea with maritime

    vessels, to countries located along

the Danube with river barges as well

as inland rail connections to both the

CIS and EU countries, GIFP is

developing into a major logistics hub

not only for Moldova, but for the entire

    region.

Giurgiulesti International Free Port (GIFP), Moldova's only port accessible to

sea-going cargo vessels, is situated 133.8 km / 72.2 nautical miles from theBlack Sea on the maritime section of the river Danube.

Up to three different types of oil

    products can be simultaneously

    loaded or discharged from vessels.

The total storage capacity of 63,600cubic meters is divided between 8

    tanks with capacities ranging from

    4,200 to 12,600 cubic meters.

The mixed gauge rail terminal for oil

products that is currently underconstruction will enable companies to

    transship oil products directly to/from

the CIS and European Union markets

    by railway. The annual transshipment

capacity of the oil terminal exceeds 1

    million tons.

The Oil Product Terminal is owned and operated by Danube Logistics. The terminal

consists of one jetty on the river Danube, a tank farm consisting of eight tanks, truck-

loading facilities and, from mid 2012 mixed-gauge rail loading/unloading facilities. The

water depth at the oil terminal jetty is at least 7m and therefore can be accessed by bothmaritime vessels and river barges.

A business park called Giurgiulesti Free Economic Zone (GFEZ) developed and

operated by Danube Logistics forms an integral part of Giurgiulesti International

Free Port. Investors have the opportunity to lease land, warehouse space, open-

storage areas as well as offices within GFEZ.

Due to the location and access to tri-modal transport infrastructure residents ofGFEZ have easy access to the markets of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. GFEZ

residents benefit not only from the exemption from excise taxes, VAT and import

duties but also from reduced corporate income tax rates, newly constructed

infrastructure, relatively low payroll expenses as well as favourable utility charges.
