Grace and peace to you, as we enter Holy Week and anticipate both the sorrow and the joy that wewill experience over the next days. How blessed we are to know how the story ends!Your Central Texas Conference leadership team celebrates the events that we’ve held this year. Weenjoyed 24 hours of spiritual renewal at Arrowhead Camp and Retreat Center. There were 75 of usthere to relish the beautiful weather and the opportunity to focus on our relationship with God. Ourleader, Julie Gallagher Gough and the music team- Leslie Woodard and Marilyn Nance did anawesome job! We appreciate each person who assisted before, during and after the retreat.Emily Jones was our keynote speaker at the Charter for Racial Justice Event: Sing a Rainbow atCogdell Memorial UMC in Waco. Her presentation on interrupting the school to prison pipelinehelped us to see our role in this vital work. Also presenting were Kimberly Long-Thomas, TamaraMcGowan, and Julie Fuschak. Adding to the experience were musical performances by the WesleyKids from Wesley UMC in Waco, our accompanist Merle Fecht, and Joi, Mya, and Jocelyn Hobdy. We were truly blessed by the gracious hospitality of the Cogdell and Central District UMW.We are currently working on plans for our Annual Autumn Gathering to be held October 12 at KellerUMC. We are very excited that Katelin Hansen, PhD, the Director of Experiential Learning for thefaith-based nonprofit, Community Development for All People will be our speaker for the event. Shewill lead us in assessing and developing our community assets. I had the privilege of attending asession led by Katelin at Assembly, and can assure you that you do not want to missthis! We will also train district officers and work on a mission project at theResource Center of the church. Watch for more details in the future. But put thedate on your calendar NOW!!Please read and share this issue of CrossTies, and remember that it is also available, along with many other resources, at our website: CTCUMW.org. The LeadershipTeam and I are always available to assist you as you do the work of putting faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth. Please don’thesitate to ask!Blessed to serve with you,Lynne GrandstaffCTC UMW President

Carol,
Thank you for writing with your question.
We don’t have an official policy on this, but I
think it is fine, especially if you send a
donation to UMW. We do have a mechanism to
account for donations related to Special
Mission Recognition. There are members who
simply don’t want one more pin, because they
already have many. For them also, we simply
process the donation sent by their Unit or
District.

HERE'S ABRIGHT IDEA!
WE HAVE THE PINS THAT
BELONGED TO A LONG-TIME
MEMBER. ONE OF HER CLOSE
FRIENDS WOULD LIKE TO GIVE
THEM TO SOME OF OUR
MEMBERS IN RECOGNITION OF
THEIR WORK AND FRIENDSHIP.
IS THIS PERMITTED? WE HATE
TO JUST HAVE THEM STACK UP
IN A DRAWER SOMEWHERE.
THERE MUST BE A PROTOCOL
THAT WOULD US TO USE THESE
PINS.

God's Love for us is so immense, yet I consistently find individuals even within our communities of Faith that"seem" to be unaware of the GREATNESS of His Love.
I can speak to this Greatness through reflecting on past Victories.over illness and injury. Doors opened. DoorsClosed. Gifts received. I know many of you can speak to the same . Yet when it comes to times of need,
seasons of illness, or a necessary Victory we often "wonder" instead of STANDING on HIS LOVE.I'm brought to the story of Peter, walking on the water ( Matthew 14:25-31) These scriptures tell a powerful
and intricate story and every time I read them I find something new. but today I am enlightened by thesewords in the beginning of verse 31, "And IMMEDIATELY". Have you ever seen your toddler fall, or a friend
begin to stumble and IMMEDIATELY grabbed for them. Have you ever wanted to do something BIG for Jesus but fear stopped you ! **If you have done that ( who
hasn't) I have GOOD NEWS for you ! You can stop being fear- filled and start being FAITH _ FILLED. Just bylearning more about how much God LOVES You ! If you will STUDY The Word & FEED on the Truths of His
Goodness until your confidence grows. You begin to KNOW you can Trust Him, not just with your eternalSalvation but with EVERY Aspect of your Life as Well. He will IMMEDIATELY reach for you , when you
REACH for Him! **Once Your Heart begins to grasps HOW MUCH God Loves You -You wont be drawing backin fear . Instead you will be confident in the fact that God will never hurt you . He will never abandon you or let
you down. You will be BOLD enough to walk on water , knowing HIS LOVE will keep you Afloat!**** denotes an excerpt taken from LIMITLESS LOVE,
365 day devotional.
