The tour of this hill offers nature and history in its purest form. Participants will hear eve-

rything about the 6000-year history of the Colline de Sion with its basilica and starshaped

fossiles. Other places to visit are the medieval village Vaudémont and the château d’Haroué. In

the “Maison de la Mirabelle” you’ll get to know what the Lorraine Mirabelle is used for.

10h : Visit the “Maison de la Mirabelle”. The Gralet family welcomes you at their own distillery and unveils the secrets of the Mirabelle produce. Visit of the distillery, a video about the Mirabelle and tas-ting of different products that are for sale at site.

11h30 : The hill with the fossil stars, the Sion hill. Guided visit of the Sion hill with the Basilica and its beautiful scenery.

12h30 : Traditional warm lunch

14h30 : Guided visit of the medieval village of Vaudémont. This village used to be an important fortress from the 11th to the 14th cent. A watchtower and part of the fortification are still visible. Viewpoints overlooking the countryside.

16h : Guided visit of the château de Haroué. A masterwork surrounded by a moat, a French and an English garden and decorated by great artists of the beginning of the 18th cent. Royal furniture from the 19th cent.

18h : End of the tour.

10 h : Starting at the Place des Clercs in Toul. Guided tour of the Cathedral Saint Etienne (St Steven) and its cloister. Tour along the vineyards of the “Côtes de Toul” for a winetasting experience at a vineyard in a typical village of the Lorraine region.

12h30 : Lunch in a typical Lorraine restaurant

14 h : The old towncenter, St Gengoult and the Art and History Museum. A guided walk through the old town center with the visit of the St Gengoult cloister garden and the former Maison Dieu dating back to the 13th cent. in the Art and History museum of Toul.

16 h : Guided visit of the fortress of Villey-le-Sec. The fortress surrounds the village with a 3.5 km long wall. Beautiful views on the “Côtes de Toul” hills and the plains towards Nancy. Enjoy the trip in a small train on a 60 cm wide military track and the blank firing of one of the cannons.
