Owner-Handled SeriesSaturday & Sunday, August 22 & 23, 2020

The AKC Owner/Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by theirowners who are not professional handlers. This series of special competitions will be offeredat dog shows across the country.All dogs that are owner/handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers' meetthe requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handled eligibleat the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by anasterisk in the steward's book and the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout thecompetition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers may not exhibit the dog inany competition during the entire show.

The Owner Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to competein the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of thenon-regular classes.

! If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it willautomatically be Owner Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to competein both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled Group.

! If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition ineligible and theBest of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligibleundefeated exhibits of the owner sex to determine Owner-Handled Best ofBreed/Variety.

! If the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are bothineligible and Select Dog and Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to chooseBest Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or WinnersBitch.

! If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all dogs of the same sex and then chooseBest Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex includingthe eligible Winners.

! If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitchare ineligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring includingWinners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety.

The breed will not be represented in the Owner-handled Group if there is no eligible dogcompeting in the Best of Breed or in Best of Winners Competition.

*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to aprofessional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised orrepresented themselves as handling dogs for pay or received payment for handling a dog.

This policyincludes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC NationalOwner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions.

Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any ground breed. In an emergency situation, whereuse of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry andreceiving a refund.

For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.

OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of theshow and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a NoviceShowmanship Class at a licensed or member show.

MASTER CLASS: This Class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the dayof the show, and who have won the 10 Best Juniors with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited ClassCompetition. The calendar for this class will consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC NationalChampionship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to entry the Master Class and maychange their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for thatyear has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

Competition must exist for Best Junior Handler.

CONDITIONS AS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE.ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian

or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civildisturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or tocomplete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made.

ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoevermay make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation ofentries after the published closing date.

NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries,but if a dog has been processed, no refund will be made.

CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING.DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further

judging will be excused.JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are

responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to bejudged. The show-giving club and the superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providingservice through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locatingdogs that are not brought into the ring when required.

ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged orwhen in the exercising ring.

CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize moneymust be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent to be advisedat once. The Superintendent and Show-giving Club may disclaim any liability for cash prizes afterthe judging of the breed is over.

THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogsand exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident ormisfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this show.

ALL TRASH IS TO BE PICKED UP BY THE OWNER/HANDLER and placed in the proper dumpstersand NOT left on the grounds.

ELECTRICITY WILL BE SUPPLIED IN THE AREA OF THE GROOMING TENT.
