If only one IF 1+1 protection group is created, set the Protection Group ID parameter to 1. If two IF 1+1 protection groups are created, it is recommended that you set the Protection Group ID parameter for the protection group consisting of the IF boards in slot 5 and in slot 7 to 1 and set the Protection Group ID parameter for the protection group consisting of the IF boards in slot 6 and in slot 8 to 2.

You can set the link ID and ATPC attributes for the main IF board. The IF working mode of the Hybrid microwave cannot be set on this interface.

• Set RF Parameters The transmit frequency and the transmit power for the standby ODU in a 1+1 HSB/SD protection group need not be set. The system automatically copies the configuration information about the main ODU for the standby ODU. The information about the standby ODU in a 1+1 FD protection group needs to be configured.

The information about the standby IF board in a 1+1 HSB/SD/FD protection group need not be configured. The system automatically copies the configuration information about the main IF board for the standby IF board.

The IF channel bandwidth and the modulation mode of the assured AM service capacity determine the value of assured E1 capacity.

Set these parameters according to the network planning documents.

By default, the AM function of the IFH2 board is disabled.

The value of the E1 Capacity parameter should not be more than the maximum value of the Assured E1 Capacity parameter in the modulation mode of the assured AM service capacity.

The GE interface of the IFH2 board in slot 5 and the GE interface of the IFH2 in slot 7 are connected to port 1 and port 2 of the EMS6 board respectively. Because the IFH2 board in slot 5 functions as the main board and the IFH2 board in slot 7 functions as the standby board, port 1 of the EMS6 board functions as the main port and port 2 functions as the slave port. Port 3 of the EMS6 board is connected to the external equipment.

• Configure a LAGThe IFH2 board in slot 7 functions as the standby board. Hence, this board need not be configured. Instead, the system automatically copies the information about the main IF board for the standby board, including the Ethernet information.

The GE interface of the IFH2 board in slot 5 (main IF board) is enabled. Hence, the GE interface of the IFH2 board in slot 7 (standby IF board) is automatically enabled by the system.

The LAG number and name are set according to the design.

In the case of the IF 1+1 protection, set the LAG to a manual LAG using the non-sharing mode.

The port that is connected to the main IFH2 board functions as the main port. The port that is connected to the standby IFH2 board functions as the slave port.

In the NE Explorer, select the EMS board, and then

choose Configuration > Ethernet Interface Management >

Ethernet Interface from the Function Tree. The

configuration window for internal ports is displayed by

default. Select External Port.

Set the port that accesses services to Enabled. Set other ports to Disabled.

Set Working Mode to the default value (Auto-Negotiation).

Set Maximum Frame Length to the default value (1522).

Click the TAG Attributes tab. This tab is unavailable if the EFT4 is used.

TAG: Set this parameter based on the type of the frames processed by the port.

This parameter is valid only when the TAG parameter is set to Access or Hybrid. Set this parameter according to actual applications.

This parameter defines whether or not to detect the packets from the port according to the TAG attributes. Generally, set this parameter to the default value (Enabled).
