Included in the pages which follow is a brief introduction to us the team, Thundercat Racing UK and the benefits of becoming a Corporate Partner with the 51racing team. Introduction

What is Racing ?

Thundercat Racing or P750 class, is a World Wide Racing series which falls under the RYA and UIM governing bodies. Thanks to an intense media following and the spectacular acrobatics of this class Thundercat Racing as a sport has grown from strength to strength with 18 countries now running their own national championships.

Each Country around the world races the same format of classes and courses, testing newbies and experienced competitors to their limits. The sport has three carefully designed disciplines designed to challenge the teams skills in every aspect of sea and lake racing.

M-SHAPE COURSEThis is a short course of approx 200m x 300m A tight course run in surf conditions where boats and crews can be seen launching themselves up to 6m in the air!!

CIRCUIT RACING This is where speed is king! Typically longer courses of approximately 500m x 500m run in flat water locations. They are designed so the boats can achieve their maximum speeds (60mph).

LONGHAUL/ENDURO Separates the Men from the Boys! These long distance races are run over a distance of 60 miles plus in all conditions (except fog!). Teams race around the coastline to specific locations where they must beach the boat and run around checkpoints.

The BoatsOriginally designed as surf rescue boats it became clear from the start that these Cats would be great for racing. The Thunder Cat inflatable catamarans come in varying shapes and sizes from manufacturers mainly in South Africa where the sport began way back in the early eighties...

The Boats are twin-hulled inflatables, typically powered by a race-tuned short shaft 50hp 2 stroke Tohatsu outboard engine.

ThunderCats are capable of achieving speeds of up to 60mph and can corner at this speed exposing the crew to G forces of nearly 3 G’s.

Each boat carries a two-man crew working together to keep these beasts upright, not too dissimilar to the way motorcycle sidecar racing teams work.“The Driver” controls the speed and direction. “The Crew” balancing, trimming and spotting for the pilot.

51racing teamFormerly Team Wales, in 2013 the name was changed to 51racing bringing the team name in line with the specialist racing parts brand they race under now. In total the team has 5 seasons behind them with Simon Harding at the helm for both National and International ThunderCat tour events.

The team has fought hard for success and have consistently finished in the top 5 boats for the last 4 years with a minimum of 16 boats in our class.

Goals for the 2015 race season

THUNDERCAT RACING UK CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015 PRO STOCK:This year we will be pushing harder than ever for the national championship title which we have so narrowly missed on previous attempts. At the very least we aim to finish in the top 3.

THUNDERCAT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS MALTA 2015We aim to place as high as possible within this event. Our aim is to finish in Top 5 of our class.

WORLD SPEED RECORD FOR P750 CLASS NOVEMBER 2015Held at the world famous Coniston water, the location of Sir Malcolm and Donald Campbell’s Bluebird

water speed records. Here we aim to push and hopefully break the P750 water speed record.

DriverSimon Harding Driver & Team Principal As Team Principal and Pilot Simon is in charge of logistics, maintenance and race preparation, as well as race strategy on the water.

Simon spent his early years riding race horses for the Sheik Mohammed in Newmarket before injury put a stop to his career. Ever positive, Simon took to the water to help aid his recovery and soon found a love for speed and crashing through the waves. He took a job with his local Council as a water sports instructor and spent his spare time racing powerboats.

Co pilotKurt Croft is the new Co-pilot for 2015.

Kurt is no stranger to speed or racing, he spent his early years living in South Africa where he was introduced to Motor cross at the age of 5. Kurt has 10 years of motor bike racing under his belt. 8 of those years racing motor-x Ktm 450s in both local and regional championships. More recently Kurt has spent the past 2 years taking part in track day racing on both Honda CBR600 and Suzuki GSXR-K1. Kurt also currently competes at downhill mountain bike events in his spare time.

Corporate Partnership Opportunities51racing are the only competitive Welsh team racing on the UK and World Championships tours. Simon and the team would like to give you the opportunity to be a part of our 2015 campaign and that with your support we will achieve our goals for this year.

BRAND EXPOSUREOver the last two seasons exposure to the tour has increased dramatically with the sport being featured on Sky Sports and both National and regional, television and radio stations.

With over 40 boats, 80 competitors and events covering 14 countries the 2015 Thunder cat World Championships set in Malta is going to be a memorable Year for all those taking part.

What is in it for you?Depending on the level of your support, partners will have the opportunity to maximise their exposure in a number of different ways.

Logo and Branding can be featured in the following ways.

1. Branded team clothing worn before, during and after the event.2. The boat can be painted to match your colour scheme 3. The 51racing van and trailer are sign-written to match your colour schemes and logo. 4. Team name could be jointly branded – maximising your brand in all media exposure.5. Flags and banner at all events.6. Use of the boat for your own corporate events.

getting you out in the 51racing boat for the demo.

The company has come a long way since the early days, when it provided just a courier service to the motor industry. News Transport is now responsible for fulfilling over 300 customers logistical needs, from sole traders to blue chip companies. News Transport will be sponsoring our fuel this season from running the boat, to getting to events.

BWORX ltd are a carbon fibre fabrication company based in Italy. They provide motorsports teams with carbon fibre parts. Most notably they work with the Ferarri F1 team. BWORX will be providing us with customised carbon parts for our Pro Stock boat and also helping with event entrance fees.
