The Way To Success!!!

Proactive means that each individual takes charge of his or her own actions

regardless if they are positive or negative!

Do something nice for someone without being told.

Encourage your friends to help clean up even if you or your friends did not make the mess.

Be respectful of others and raise your hand to speak.

Be courteous and listen to others ideas and questions.

Eat lunch with someone different…make a new friend!

Encourage your friends to keep the lunch room clean.

Demonstrate to others the importance of taking care of materials given to you such as books, folders, recess equipment, etc.

Invite someone new to play with your group of friends.

If someone upsets you, walk away, and do not say anything rude or mean.

If you do something wrong, acknowledge it, then apologize and mean it!

If you are finished all your work, ask your teacher what you can do…possibly AR, math boxes, finish a writing piece!

Each class has a behavior chart similar to 4th grade. Teachers can monitor students’ habits using the chart. These habits include:

Talking Not listening

Excessive poor choices will result in a parent phone call and reprimand.

In addition, some behaviors have stronger consequences.

These include: hands/feet, homework, disrespect, and wasting time. The consequence for choosing these behaviors is the accommodation room and a phone

call home. You get one free missed homework. Each missed homework thereafter will be a trip to the Acc.

Room. Ten trips to the accommodation room will disqualify

you from the upcoming class trip which include the movies, Philadelphia city tour, and College Settlement camping trip.

Every student starts with a clean slate at the beginning of the trimester.

We have implemented the following behavior policy to ensure the children’s safety.

Each child will know whether or not they have any strikes by noting them in their data folders. Please be sure to check in with them.

In addition, you will be notified by email or phone to inform you of a strike.
