How to maintain an environmentally friendly high-quality lifestyle in a growing metropolis such as Lyon, the second biggest city in France ?

With this 14-day professionalizing study abroad program in English students will attend seminars and present projects dealing with sustainability. Cultural visits in Lyon and its surrounding area will be organized.Coursework will take place on both campuses in downtown Lyon and at the IUT on the outskirts of the city near the beautiful Parc de Parilly.

Circular economy and logistics :All along the supply chain, products and processes can be improved to achieve the right balance between economic, ecological and social performance. This course will start with an overview of the main challenges faced by companies who decide to improve their sustainability, followed by a focus on specific areas and methods to boost performance in terms of sustainability.

Circular economy and production :Recyling, remanufacturing, reusing... This course will provide a theroretical background on production management, and focus on the applications and impact of circular economy in production.

Assessment : Case studies and final presentation about core subjects.

Suez : Visit of a waste management and recycling center site. Kéolis : Presentation of Keolis, the transport operator and its sustainable development policy.

D i s c o v e r i n g t h e c i t y a n d i t s s u r r o u n d i n g :Explore the rich heritage and history of old Lyon, gastro tour, Confluences Museum on the peninsula between the Rhône and Saône rivers, Traboules (passage ways of the Vieux-Lyon Renaissance district), day-trip to Annecy where the mountain slopes descend all the way into the clear blue waters of the lake.
