2020 will be remembered as an annus horribilis because of the health crisis we are still living through today. It will leave a lasting mark on interpersonal relationships and on our lives, both private and professional. Lockdown, curfew and tele-working are now forming part of our daily lives. Being prevented from meeting and exchanging, we rediscovered the importance of social cohesion – and it is becoming harder to put up with it. That's why we are absolutely sure that the trade show industry will start up again with renewed vi-gour. RESILIENCE means the ability to overcome a traumatic experience and/or continue to adapt well in an adverse environment, and that's precisely what motivates us. We are more than ever convinced of the importance of creating bonds, sharing ex-perience, and learning from one another. The cloud and datacenters have nevertheless resisted, helping businesses and organisations stricken by the Covid, and its effects on both economy and work, to keep going. They even take advantage of a craze increased by the need to make cor-porate IT accessible in any situation, especially in mobility and teleworking, and by the huge rise in data flowing into da-tacenters and new proximity practices with the IoT and edge computing. However, IT remains subject to profound turbulence, such as awareness of certain drifts in cloud practices, including excessive charging, that call for improved run-ning and management. Some balance is emerging today, with about 70% on-premise corporate IT that will remain as such and will not flow into the cloud. While this will not stop the cloud's fast growth in many uses, organisations are now turning to hybrid clouds. In the datacenter world, each and every project includes energy efficiency and environmental integration as from the spe-cification stage. And to further meet cost reduction requirements which are further intensified by the pandemic, datacenters must become marvels of technology and optimisation serving both modernisation of existing datacenters and building of new datacenters, from hyperscale to local scale. The Cloud & Datacenter trade shows will both accompany the rebound from the health crisis and will be appropriate for answering the many questions raised by the players in those fields and their clients, and for showing new uses and inno-vations that will make them further progress. As trade show organisers for nearly 40 years, we have always been striving to be tuned in to our markets, while taking outside requirements into account. We'd like to thank all those (exhibitors, service providers, and partners) who, in large numbers, became involved by our side and for whom trade shows will be a major business boosting medium. As from now we are preparing the 2021 edition that will take place on October, in an ideal period for the expected rebound, and will get off to a most auspicious start. We are looking forward to welcoming you back on 5 and 6 October!
