For over 4,000 years, Indians have looked to

Ayurveda as a pathway to vibrant health and longevity. Tisancient science o healing is treasured as a git rom the Ve-das, the world's oldest sacred texts.

Te word Ayurveda is made up o two Sanskrit terms - Ayumeaning 'lie' and Veda meaning 'knowledge'. Ayurveda

means ‘science o lie’. Knowledge about the sel, the ego, thephysical, social and cultural environment and the elements

and their interaction is summed up in a composite whole in Ayurveda. Both positive and negative ways o living, breath-ing, relaxing are enunciated oering practical ways to ensure

health and thereater sel-realization. Observation o living

beings and their relation to the environment and suitableliestyles or the particular ambience is explained in an eclec-

tic idiom, reecting the entire living world as one entity.

Ayurvedic and herbal medicines ensure physical and men-

tal health without side eects, as is evidenced in modernmedical practice. Te herbal and mineral ingredients helpbring 'arogya'(health) to human body and mind. Te goal o

Ayurveda is prevention and promotion o the body ’s innatecapacity or maintaining balance o the elements.

Ayurvedic treatment is non-invasive and non-toxic. It can bepracticed saely as an alternative therapy alongside conven-tional therapies. Its practice and therapy helps stress-related,

metabolic and chronic conditions. It is used to treat acne, al-lergies, asthma, anxiety, arthritis, chronic atigue syndrome,

Yoga is an ancient Indian science. It is practicedto reach usion o the mind and body into a harmoniouswhole. It is one o the oldest holistic health care systems ever,

without intervention o external products. It is the resultanto continuous research-practice over the centuries. It hastaken the orm o A sanas (bodily postures) and Pranayam

(breath control and meditation). It is essentially a mind-bodytherapy involving a variety o exercises and meditation.

Yoga helps to achieve physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing o the practitioner.

It helps the individual become more aware o her b ody's posture, alignment and patterns o movement. It makes the body exible

and helps relax even amidst stressed environment. Yoga is gaining popularity in the developed countries because it

has no side eects, gives long lasting results and is perhaps theonly discipline that works without the help o any orally or intraveinous administered medicine. Its practice is guaranteed to cure

several o chronic psycho-somatic dysunctions in the body. Its

sustained practice guarantees cures.
