Foundation Preparation1.1 Clear the area where you want to build the coop and layout for the foundation. Use the below illustration as a guide.

1.2 For the foundation, dig the trenches at least 1' wide and 1' deep.

1.3 Fill the trenches to ground level with concrete and let cure, or harden. Since curing times vary between brands, read the packaging for recommended curing times.

1.4 Once the concrete has cured, use standard-sized bricks and lay them across the foundation. You will need roughly 90 bricks for this step.

Framing The Floor2.1 Assemble the frame using 1 1/2” x 5 1/2” pressure-treated material. You will need two boards

cut to 11’ that will be the rim joist and two boards cut to 3'-11 3/4” that will be the joist.

2.2 Secure the beams with 3x5" wood screws.

2.3 Using a speed square or carpenter's square, check the corners to make sure they are 90 degrees.

Assemble The Wall Studs3.1 Using 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" pressure-treated material, cut four 7’ studs and four 6’

studs and then assemble them using the illustration below as a reference.

3.2 Use 4x5” wood screws to secure the studs to the bottom frame.

3.3 Make sure the corners are 90 degrees using a carpenter’s square or speed square.

Assemble The Top Plates4.1 Assemble the top plates using 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” pressure-treated material.

You will need two boards cut to 12'-9" that will be the top plates.

Install Plywood For The Floor 9.1 Prepare the 9/16" plywood for the floor sheathing according to the drawing. Cut the

openings for studs.

Nesting Box Assemble 11.1 Using 1 1/2 “ x 2 1/2 “ material, assemble the frame for the nesting boxes using the illustration below as a guide. Make sure to take note of the 9 degree slope needed for the roof of the nesting boxes.

11.2 Cover the top and bottom of the nesting boxes with 9/16” plywood and secure with 2” wood screws.

11.3 Prepare and install starter courcer from the pressure-treated lumber with cross section 1/4" x 3/4". Prepare the 1/2" x 6" wood siding boards in the required amount according to the drawing. Cut the shield's top part according to the angle of rafter slope. Assemble siding shields with 2" galvanized nails to the frame beams.

11.4 Prepare wall's trims from the boards with a cross-section of 3/4" x 1"; 3/4" x 2 1/2"; 3/4" x 3". Cut the boards at the required angles along the siding contour for the framing.

11.5 Assemble the door frame using 1 1/2 “ x 2 1/2 “ material according to the illustration and use the same siding material listed in steps 22.3 and 22.4.

11.6 Install two 3" door hinges using 6x1" wood screws. Finish the door installation by attaching 4" surface bolt and 6" door pull.

11.7 Cover the roof of the nesting boxes with corrugated roof panels and secure with 1 1/2 “ sheet metal screws and neoprene washers.

11.8 Install nest box assembles with the help of two 1 1/2 “ x 4 1/4 “ x 4 3/4 “ corner braces and 1" wood screws. Connect the box frame and coop's frame by 5" wood screws.

Assemble and Install Coop Doors12.1 Build the door frame for the coop using 1 1/2 “ x 2 1/2 “ pressure-treated material and secure with 5” wood screws.

12.2 Use 1 1/2 “ x 3/4 “ pressure-treated material for the door trim and fasten with 2” wood screws.

12.3 Using 1/4 “ x 3/4 “ pressure-treated material, cut and install a starter courcer.

12.4 For the exterior siding on the door, use 1/2 “ x 6” wood siding boards and the illustration below as a reference.

12.5 Assemble siding shields with 2" galvanized nails.

12.6 Install three 3" door hinges using 2x1" wood screws. Finish the door installation by attaching 4" surface bolt and 6" door pulls.

Window Installation13.1 Use 1 1/2 “ x 1 1/2 “ pressure-treated material to assemble the frame for the windows.

Cut the beams to connect them in the center.

Aviary's Door Assemble And Installation14.1 For the aviary’s door, use 2 1/2 “ x 3 1/2 “ pressure-treated material to construct the frame and secure with 5” wood screws.

14.2 Prepare 1/4" wire mesh in the required quantity and install it on the inner side of the frame with the help of an industrial stapler.

14.3 Install three 4" door hinges using 6x2" wood screws. Finish the door installation by attaching 4" surface bolt and 6" door pull.
