PRAISING GOD WITH GRATEFUL HEARTS
*HYMN OF PRAISE: REJOICE, YE PURE IN HEART UMH #160 COMMUNITY PRAYER (unison): God of Grace and Mercy, of Mission and Call, of Blessing
and Love; As we gather in worship this day, we anticipate You speaking to us. Inspire our hearts, minds, and souls as we worship together. Be within us, this portion of Your Church, and transform us to receive blessing in a way that glorifies You. Forgive us when we take for granted Your blessings, and treat them as birth rights instead of the generous gifts of love they are. Forgive us when we want to absorb all Your blessings, and yet get judgey and grumpy and stingy when You call us to bless others. Forgive us when we come to Your table of grace, and neglect to be gracious to our neighbors. We need You to heal our hearts when we are broken. We need You to heal our resentments, our judgementalism, our prejudices, and our fears, for those are the things that have broken us. We come back to You, seeking You to bless us, not because
we just want to be blessed, but because we need the relationship with You such blessings nurture. We pray all this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. AMEN.
