The morning of Oct. 3, the 4 th District Police Department hosted national Coffee-with-a-Cop Day at the Lotus Cafe inside Pete’s Fresh Market, 118 th St. and Avenue O. For local shoppers it was an opportunity to engage with their neighborhood Police Department. This past weekend Hegewisch was home to St. Columba’s Carnival, Hegewisch Fest, and St. Florian’s Dedication Ceremony of the Shrine of Protectors, joined by 2019 Mayoral Candidate and former Superintendent of Police Garry McCarthy. Also, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, was the district’s Beat 433 meeting. If you missed yesterday’s meet and greet, there are other scheduled events coming up where you might have an opportunity to say “hello” and give thanks to our men and women in blue. Hegewisch Marsh Fall Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 6. St. Florian’s Fall Festival runs from Oct. 12 through Oct. 14. Also, Wolf Lake’s Fall Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20. And finally, the 3 rd Annual 10 th Ward Trunk-or-Treat event will be on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. on East 133 rd St. - between Baltimore and Brandan avenues. Thank you 4 th District Police Officers for attending our community events, engaging with us and, especially, for your service. Coffee with a Cop at Lotus Cafe located in Pete’s Fresh Market.
