Job DescriptionUnder direction of the President/CEO and the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the economic Developer is responsible for the following:
Planning and development to attract new businesses• Encourage retention and expansion of existing businesses• Coordinate and assist in the creation of new jobs and investment in Baxter and Marion Counties• Promote a strong and more diverse economic base• Manage programs and activities designed to enhance the area’s marketability• Establish long-term economic development goals and strategic plans• Implement marketing, advertising, and public relation programs• Negotiate with current and future industry representatives• Recruit clean, environmentally friendly industry, retail, and commercial businesses•
Job RequirementsApplicants wishing to apply should meet the following requirements:
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree (An advanced degree from an accredited college or university would be a plus)• Five years economic development experience (Long-term proven track record and increased years of experience may be substituted for a • Bachelor’s degree)Thorough knowledge of economic development practice and principles:•
Finance, real estate, applicable tax issues, marketing, communications, statistics, workforce issues and common policies/practices, or a combination of training education, and experience which demonstrates the requisite skills and ability required for this job

ASUMH will offer an Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing Distance Technology Degree with 20 students beginning January 2013. The new program is aimed at paramedics and LPN’s who need a flexible schedule to complete their degree.
