LNG Development Co.
Up to 80,000 tonnes/day Fresh Water from the sea
Weir Entropie TCD 4-10,000 thermal-compression distillation units
Why Co-Generation?
Here, steam is extracted from power turbines before exit to condensers; evaporates sea water in distillation units. Hot drains of fresh water and brine then deliver heat to re-gasify LNG.
• Overall efficiency of utilities is enhanced
• Much less waste heat is rejected to the ocean
• Fresh water is produced economically
• No natural gas need be burned to re-gasify LNG
• Closed-Loop re-gasification: no sea water is subjected to cryogenic temperatures
