How did I learn to hear Gods voice?

"irst# I had to s$rrender to God with a childli%e tr$st# laying every other

source or crutch down on the altar. My passion had to be hearing God and Him

alone. I begin by binding any other spirit voice but the voice of the Holy Spirit, so

that I would know that every inner voice I heard is either mine or Father Gods ! all

day long. "nce I have bound every other spirit voice, I choose to believe that Father

God, who has asked me to minister, will be faithful to #ll my mouth, if I will open it

in faith. Hearing God$s voice belongs to the sheep. I am His sheep and His sheep

hear His voice.

%ohn &'()* My sheep listen to my voice+ I know them, and they follow me. I-

I commanded m! mind to !ield to m! spirit. My thoughts sound analytic or

like reason, but Gods voice sounds like a spontaneous thought that would not

usually come from my natural mind. Satans voice is often high pressure, accusing,

condemning, divisive or destructive. Gods voice edi#es, encourages, comforts,

teaches, creates, loves, heals and gives life. I repented of doubt and unbelief and

presented my ears and eyes to God, inviting Him to speak to me or to give me

vision.

voice.. Gods voice is a spontaneous ow that comes from communion with Him as

a life/style, being one spirit with His Spirit. 0& 1or. 2(&*, %n.&34 I am a branch grafted

into the vine and His sap ows through me. 5he 6ible describes Gods prophetic

voice as 7naba8 which literally means to 7bubble up.8 Gods voice is like a riverwithin me that bubbles up all through the day. 9hen I am yielded to Him, it is as

simple as taking dictation but far more e:citing because I am taking dictation from

age. From Genesis to ?evelation God has wanted us to have open spiritual eyes. I

choose to believe that God is pouring out His Spirit on @AA esh and @AA will be able

to see spiritual visions and dream spiritual dreams. 0@cts )(&*4

for others. 5he Holy Spirit convinced me that I didnt have to know precisely howevery prophetic word applied in order to deliver it. I pressed in to know God and His

voice. @t #rst, it was kind of like going from written letters to >/mail to Instant

Messenger. ow, after years of Bconstant use,B I can discern Him readily, no matter

where I am. I Coke and say I have a 7wireless high speed connection8 now. @postle

Daul said our spiritual senses are trained by Bconstant use+B I began to trust my

spiritual eyes, ears and senses to discern rightly. 0Heb. 3(&E4

God often tells $s more than He wants to spea% to others. %ust ask, and He

will clarify what is to be prayed, what is to be shared with leadership and what is to

be prophesied to the receiver. Drophetic words will usually be for e:hortation,

encouragement or consolation unless we are leadership over the receiver0s4 or areauthoried to speak with correction, direction or reproof. 0& 1or. &), &E4 God will

anoint one who is accountable to Him and to Godly leadership.

&! f$l)llment comes as I la! all else on the altar in order to hear God*s

voice#His heart and His desires. God #lls me with His compassion and motivation

to impart clarity, healing, vision, faith, peace and the power to ful#ll His calling.

Drophetic words usually come gently across my spirit, as a still small voice. 5hey

are more healing, nurturing, loving, encouraging, wise and more knowledgeable

than my natural thoughts are. 0& ings &(&)4

In , orinthians ,# God commands $s to desire spirit$al (ifts and tocovet to prophes!. I had to attend a 7school of the prophets8 0see & Samuel4 for

&) weeks before I began to have con#dence that I could hear God$s voice and that I

wouldnt hurt people; 5hey didnt give me a gift but they taught me how to minister

in the anointing and to be accountable.

hen I +e(an to see or sense thin(s in m! spirit# I would ask Father God, BIs

that youB I soon realied that I had been sensing and hearing our Father all along

but I had been grouping all my thoughts together without distinguishing His

spontaneous thoughts in my spiritual mind from reasoning in my natural mind. Aike

%esus said, 7My sheep hear my voice.8

I learned to place the ross of hrist +etween me and an! self-centered

0esh0that I was not aware of or had not #nished bringing it to death on the cross.4

I didnt want soulish attitudes or motivations to color pure prophetic words. %esus

only speaks the words the Father has spoken to Him 0%ohn 3(&/)'4 and I choose to

submit to Gods voice too.

our Father says to do. God never asked us to 7#gure out what to do or say8 in our

own strength. 5o do so is to walk after the esh, instead of the Spirit. @s believers,

who have made %esus Aord of our lives, we have the mind of 1hrist because we have

1hrist in us, our hope of glory. 5his is the mystery of the Gospel( 1hrist alone can

live the 1hristian life / in us and through us / for God$s glory.

1ol &()* 5o them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious

riches of this mystery, which is 1hrist in you, the hope of glory. I-

3ow I am +lessed as I partner with God to minister wordsof knowledge,

wisdom or prophetic words that #ll the heart of the receiver with a knowing that

their God knows their hearts desire and He is ready to respond. It was Gods desire

from the beginning to walk in the cool of the garden with His people, sharing heart

to heart / spirit to spirit. 9e can choose to believe that we too are one spirit with

His Spirit, we are His sheep, we hear His voice and we obey.

+e(an. @s a shepherd boy, he would get alone, worship God, listen to God$s voice

and Cournal his e:periences. 9e know them as Dsalms. He had a strong passion to

hear God$s voice. If you will do what avid did for even a month, you will notice

that you are becoming a person after Gods heart too. It doesnt have to be a long

time. God can say a lot in a few minutes.
