This conference presents state of the art infection prevention practice and

disease control information.

Conference Objectives At the conclusion of the conference, the participant will be able to:

Discuss the importance of leadership and educational diversity in infection prevention

Understand the role of infection prevention in antibiotic stewardship

Understand the basics of quality improvement

Discuss statistical analysis and data interpretation for infection preventionists

Discuss strategies to contain novel or targeted MDROs and how the outbreak investigations occur in the state

Understand project management strategies for infection preventionists

Understand the definitions of emergence and convergence of infectious diseases

Identify at least one new change related to reprocessing critical or semicritical items

Discuss alternate strategies for duration of contact pathogens

Target Audience

This program is designed for Infection Prevention professionals in all health care settings, including Infection

Prevention Committee Chairpersons, Hospital Epidemiologists, Physicians, Employee Health Nurses, Emergency

Response Professionals, Physician’s office employees, Microbiologists, Home Health personnel, Long Term Care staff,

Non-Acute Care staff, Public Health personnel, Ambulatory Care personnel and other Health Care providers.

Educational Contact Hours

This seminar is approved for 15 contact hours of continuing education under the provider number of #50-757 for

nursing and # 50-8854 for laboratory continuing education credit. Daily contact hours: Wednesday 6.0; Thursday 5.5;

and Friday 3.5.
