POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY PGP Representative IIM Calcutta Elected Students’ Representative to the Post Graduate Program (PGP) Committee for Academic affairs and the Students Council. The single interface between students and faculty at IIMC, responsible for ensuring that student demands on issues relating to academic life are conveyed to the faculty and necessary action is taken. Our key initiatives include: ¾ Important changes in the PGP Guidelines including course structure, examination evaluation and attendance. ¾ Work on the PGDCM Course Curriculum Review aimed at fundamental changes in the PGDCM curriculum starting from the fresh batch. ¾ A transparent mechanism of Open Feedback from students. Placement Controls Final and Summer Placements 2003, IIM Calcutta Led and initiated changes in the Summer Placement Process. ¾ Summer process was widely appreciated by the companies and the students. ¾ Described as the best-managed process witnessed till date by the placement coordinator. SUMMER INTERNSHIPS IBM India IIM Calcutta April – June 2003 Project Developed a Launch Strategy for IBM p615 in India, an entry-level UNIX server, which was launched during my internship. Key Activities ¾ Performed a comparative analysis of competing products in the target market. ¾ Identified key industry segments and applications where IBM p615 could be positioned. ¾ Developed push, pull and influence tactics as part of a 3-pronged promotion strategy. Achievements ¾ Recommendations on positioning and promotion have been accepted and implemented for the launch. Over 450 units were sold between August and December 2003 in India. ¾ The comparative analysis formed the basis of promotional material to be distributed among prospective client organizations. Sales and Distribution

Studied the feasibility of new channels for Titan Dash watches in Kolkata. Identified alternate distribution channels for Titan Fastrack watches in Kolkata.

Brand Management

Studied the current status of branded tea market in India. Analyzed prospects of a new tea product and possible branding strategies.

Marketing Research

Analyzed the potential of M-commerce applications for BSNL by empirically investigating the Indian consumers’ willingness to subscribe to value-added solutions.

Co-ordinated the activities of various students’ cells and ensured the quality and timely execution of events.

Managed the infrastructure requirements for various events.

The team achieved highest ever level of participation from external institutes and increased the scale of the festival.
