1. General Information
This specification covers the chemicals required within the HTAS battery limit of thehydrogen plant.
2. Chemicals for BFW Preparation
2.1 Phosphate
Quality Commercial grade crystallised Na3PO4 * 12H2O suitable for boiler
feed water conditioning. Sample and certified specification to be
submitted to the boiler vendors for approval. The chemical mustnot contain any sulphur or chlorine compounds.
Consumption Approximately 500 kg/year
2.2 Morpholine
Quality Commercial grade morpholine (tetrahydro-1,4 isoxazine) suitable
for boiler feed water conditioning. Sample and certified
specification to be submitted to the boiler vendors for approval.
The morpholine must not contain any sulphur or chlorine
compounds.
Consumption Approximately 25500 kg/year
3. Chemicals for HDS Section
3.1 DMDS
Quality Commercial grade DMDS, max. 1% DMS
Consumption
Start-up (presulphiding new catalyst) 900 kg
Normal operation, max. 950 kg/year

The vendors of chemicals are to supply toxicological information and instructions
regarding safe handling and proper storage of the pure chemicals.
