Meeting 1

Production: ---

Present: Both (Moushomi and Shapla)

Date: 05/11/10

Issues discussed Decisions made We discussed that we should have a production name as we will be making a music video and most professional music videos are made by a production team. We thought of things we like and random names.Production name ideas:-Banana Productions- Monkey productions- S&M Productions- Brink productions- Mash Up Productions.

Our production team name is called ‘BRiiNK Productions.’

We discussed the type of music videos and music we like that are common.

Music videos we both like: ‘Face drop – Sean Kingston’, ‘Start all over – Miley Cyrus’, ‘Rude boy – Rihanna’ and ‘Check it out – Will.I.Am ft. Nikki Minaj’We found that the music videos we like are not slow tracks but very lively. The music we like that are common are mainly the genre, RnB, Hip hop and Pop. So as we both like these genres we thought we should do our music video with these genres.

Meeting 3

Production: BRiiNK Productions.

Present: Both

Date: 05/12/10

Issues discussed Decisions made As a team, we thought we should do an online survey for our audience on surveymonkey.com as this will help us find out exactly what our target audience would prefer to watch in a music video.

The questions we planned to ask our audience:

1. How old are you? Under 10, 11-16, 17-24, 25+

The reason for asking this question is to see the variety if age groups that will be answering the survey.

2. What genre of music do you enjoy? (Tick as many that apply) R&B, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Country, Opera

The reason for asking this question is to see what type of music our audience like and it’s a multiple answer choice because want to know all the different type of genres people enjoy.

3. Do you like themed music videos? Yes, No (If yes, what sort of theme do you prefer?)

The reason for asking this question is because we want to if they would prefer a specific theme or just an abstract video.

4. Would you prefer animated music videos? Yes, No (Please give reasons)

The reason for asking this question is because we, a production team, had the idea of adding a bit of animations but we want to know the reasons to why our audience would like animations or not.

5. What would you like to see in music videos? Dancers only, Singers only, story only, Dancers and singers, Dancers and story, Singers and story, Dancers singers and story

The reason for asking this question is because we need to know exactly what we will be doing in the video and if our audience will like watching.

6. How long do you prefer a music video to be? 1-2 minutes, 3-4 minutes, 5+

The reason for asking this question is because we need to find out how long people would prefer a music video to be because if we make our video too long then it might bore our audience and they wouldn’t like it and if we make it too short then our audience would find it rather boring as well because they would expect more so therefore we it is important to know the exact length of duration of our video that our audience would prefer.

7. What is the name of your favourite music video?

The reason for asking this question is because we would like to know how our audience favourite video uses camera techniques and editing and even the acting to make it so good that it is ranked their favourite music video.
