    Service provider perspective

Operators of Alcatel-Lucent wireless systems use performance and capacity metrics tohelp evaluate the performance and engineer the system. The metrics recommended byAlcatel-Lucent to monitor performance of a Flexent CDMA system are: Established Call Rates Dropped Call Rates RF Failure Rates Call Delivery Metrics

All counts must be summed over all the sectors, vocoders and carriers in the cell.

Important! If all the cells in the system are 2G-CDMA cells, then all the pageresponse seizures due to 3G mobiles will be assigned to 2G channel elements. Hence, the 3G page response seizures represent the 3G calls assigned to 2G-CDMA. The3G-CDMA response seizure count, CDMA-PAF-CARR-SC 37 has been added to the

    denominator.

Important! When the feature, System and Subscriber Error to Announcement (SSEA)is on, the announcement is made by DCS and CP CDMA 18 (Originations Denied-Error) is pegged and CDMA-PAF-25 (Intercept messages) is not pegged. However, when the announcement is made by the DCS, a CE is assigned (and some calls mayresult in TCCF) and hence from system performance point of view it is treated as aregular call. It is therefore recommended that the above metric should be usedirrespective of the status of the SSEA feature.

In R17, it is possible to have a call originated or terminated by 3Gmobiles gets assigned to 2G channels due to lack of 3G resources. In such cases, these3G seizures will lead to 2G assignments. Hence 3G Origination/Terminationsassigned to 2G is added to 2G origination and termination seizures(CDMA-PAF-CARR-SC 37)

Important! When the feature, System and Subscriber Error to Announcement (SSEA)is on, the announcement is made by DCS and CP CDMA 18 (Originations Denied-Error) is pegged and CDMA-PAF-25 Intercept messages) is not pegged. However, when the announcement is made by the DCS, a CE is assigned (and some calls mayresult in TCCF) and hence from system performance point of view it is treated as aregular call. It is therefore recommended that the above metric should be usedirrespective of the status of the SSEA feature.
