    DEFINITION OF A!

    There are many questions and arguments from century to century to define, what is Law?. But

    we still cannot define a proper definition of Law. Law is now been defining in many ways fromdifferent perspective and different views.

    n generally, !ules established by a governing authority to institute and maintain orderly co"

    e#istence.

    Broadly, Law is a set of rules, which are made by authori$ed authority, to maintain law and

    order situation and to control disobedience or violence.

    The statutory definition of Law is, Law means any act, ordinance, order, rules, regulation, by"

    law, notification or other legal instrument and any custom or usage, having the force of law in

    any institution

    common observance and benefit.

    Base on this definition, law has the following elements.

    through society, to the end that law may approach its supreme ideal which is the sway and

    dominance of &ustice.*

    6. Laws must prescribe by legitimate authority " *sovereignty resides in the people and all

    government authority emanates from them.*

    7. Laws must be ordained for the common benefit " the welfare of the people is the supreme law
