They're usually slim and tall and absolutely stunning as it relates to attractiveness and most often have smiles that could make any man or women melt.

We see the "showing off” the newest fashion trends from the worlds best designers. We see this special group everywhere. But the question I raise is how do we get he privilege of enjoying their talents and up close beauty? Fashion photographers is the answer.

Mario Testino and Eva Mueller are two fashion photographers that are just as popular as are the models they are taking photographs of.

Big money and the larger than life lifestyle is perhaps the dream of many talented photographers, however getting to that level is not a easy road to walk. There are hundreds and hundreds of photographers dreaming of the day in which one of the fashion magazines calls them as a result of having their photo selected.

Below are my tips to help the fashion photographer hopeful get started on the road to fashion photography-

Know your subject matter cold. You'll never know everything about your subject but you can never know enough. Read every book, blog and watch every DVD about fashion. The local library has shelves about fashion and fashion photography and Amazon has countless numbers of books on both subjects.

• Grab yourself at least 2 good cameras. Along with your camera get a tripod and good lighting equipment. When selecting your camera be sure to find the best entry level DSLR camera that you can afford.

• Work submission. Hopefully you've taken a few good photos. The magazine editors like photos that are bright, crisp and sharp and usually 4x5 in size. If you don't have those but you do have a photo that has been published via a fashion photo contest, local magazine, they'll all work. Your goal is to submit your work to the editors of the fashion magazines. I recommend you have 30 photos of various sizes in your portfolio.

You want to ensure you show of as many full or partial parts of the body as possible.• Use technology to your advantage. Get a website up with your online portfolio. Create

a photo bucket account as well as well as Flick r You want to submit your photos to photo blogs and online fashion photo galleries. The purpose of this is to get your photos in front of as many eyes as possible.

Keep in mind fashion also includes jewelery hats, watches,etc. If you can get a good shot of a piece of jewelry on a nice slim wrist or neck that would be a good up close shot to have. Also, note as you go through the job search process you will be expected to leave your portfolio behind for a lengthy period of time. In some cases it could be as long as a month before you get your portfolio back.

Since this is the case, have multiple copies of your portfolio that way you can apply for many different fashion photography.

You've just been given my 4 simple steps to getting your career started in the fashion industry. You still have a lot of work to do but following my 4 tips, will get you on the right path and moving in the right direction.
