ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCES OF NON-IONIC SURFACTANTS
The development is based on:
▌R&D activity of interaction surfactant – polymer
▌Development (2009 – 2016)
▌Enhancing the Efficiency of LF and DF non-ionic surfactants: BFS – 211
▌Development (2017 – 2019)

▌BFS – NI 247/75 viscosity
17
BFS - NI 247/75 is fluid and homogeneous at a Temperature lower than 20ºC, so it is easy to handle, it helps to avoid possible dosing problemsduring production time, and also decreases energy consumption.

▌BFS – NI 247/75 application – HSC. Grease Emulsion power
Procedure:
The emulsion properties of 2 MEDIUM quality benchmark degreasers were tested against the basic AEO formulation and against BFS formulation.
Under controlled mixing, an O/W emulsion was created mixing different quantities of cleaner product and oil. Its stability was evaluated after 5minutes.

▌ Brenntag has developed LF/DF & PAE aggregates whose performance properties offer cleaners’ formulatorsalternatives to traditional LF/DF & PAE surfactants with a competitive relation efficiency - cost.
▌ Cleaning Laboratory has been studying BFS – 211 & BFS – NI 247/75 use as ingredients into ADW, HDLD,HSC for Household and I&I markets.
▌ Conclusions of our study shows that:
▌ BFS – 211 can be used as a LF/DF non-ionic surfactant instead of fatty alcohol EOPO, in ADW, and Rinse Aids.
▌ BFS – NI 247/75 can be used as a primary non-ionic surfactant instead of C12-14 Fatty Ethoxylated Alcohol with 7 OE, inHDLD in a relation 1 : 0.60 (as solids), in HSC in relation 1 : 0,4 to 0,6 (as solids), a lower % without any negative influencein performance results.
▌ Relevant optimization of the global detergent process has been introduced: lower energy consumption, lowercontent of active raw materials, savings in handling and transport.
